법규 검토에 근거한 비교과 관련 쟁점 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 고등학교의 비교과교육과 관련하여 법규를 전반적으로 검토한 후, 쟁점을 추출하고 분석하여 향후 개선방향을 제안하는 것이다. 법규 검토 결과, 쟁점으로는 ①확장되는 비교과영역과 임기응변적 대응, ②비교과내역의 선발자료로의 활용과 결과 중심주의, ③비교과내역 기록방식에의 집착과 기록의 신뢰성에 대한 의문, ④교사의 권한 강화와 학생의 학교생활에의 예속 등 네 가지가 추출되었다. 쟁점 분석을 바탕으로 개선방향을 제안하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고등학교에서 이루어져야 하는 비교과영역의 범위를 공식적으로 확정할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 고등학교에서의 비교과내역을 대입시의 주된 선발자료로 활용하는 정책을 개선해야 한다. 셋째, 비교과내역의 기록은 교육자료로만 활용될 수 있도록, 현재의 양적 다양성과 질적 구체성을 추구하는 학교생활기록부 기록방식이 개선되어야 한다. 교과 관련 기록만을 가지고도 얼마든지 다양한 잠재력이 있는 인재를 선발할 수 있다. 평가방식이나 교육방식의 변화가 필요한 것이지 또 다른 영역을 입시에 반영한다고 해서 고등학교 관련 교육문제가 해결되지는 않는다. 비교과영역은 학생이 해방될 수 있는 쉼터로서 자리 잡아야 한다. 본 연구는 문헌분석을 바탕으로 논증 연구를 수행한 만큼, 실증적인 연구가 후속되면 좋을 것이고, 본 연구에서 제안한 개선방향을 구체화하는 연구들이 후속되길 기대해본다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the regulations in relation to extra-curricular-activities of high school in general and then to extract and analyze the issues and to propose improvement directions in the future. As a result of the review of the legislation, the following points are discussed: (1) expansion of the scope of extra-curricular-activities and timely response, (2) use of the records of extra-curricular-activities as selection data for university admission and results-centricity, (3) the obsession with extra-curricular-activities recording method and questions about the reliability of the record, (4) strengthening the authority of teachers and the student s dependence on school life. Based on the issue analysis, suggestions for improvement are as follows. First, it is necessary to officially confirm the scope of extra-curricular-activities that should be made in high school. Second, it is necessary to improve the policy of using the records of extra-curricular-activities in high school as main selection data at the time of university admission. Third, the records of extra-curricular-activities should be used only as educational materials. It is possible to select candidates with various potentials, even if they have only the records of the school subjects. Reflecting another area into the entrance examination does not solve the problems related to high school education. Extra-curricular-activities should be settled as a shelter where the student can be liberated. The other study should be followed by empirical research and it is expected that studies that specify the direction of improvement proposed in this study will be followed.
