초등 3학년생의 디지털미디어중독에 영향을 미치는 요인 탐색: 집행기능곤란, 화용능력, 행복감을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 3학년생이 디지털미디어중독 위험 사용자가 될 확률에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하고자 한다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널연구(PSKC)의 10차년도 (2017) 조사에 참여한 1,225쌍의 어머니와 만 9세 아동의 자료를 이용하여 빈도분석, ANOVA, 다항로지스틱 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 디지털 미디어중독의 잠재적위험 사용자는 6.04%, 고위험 사용자는 18.29%로, 아동 4명중 1명꼴로 미디어중독위험 사용자군에 속하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 일반사용자와 중 독위험 사용자 간에 집행기능곤란, 화용능력, 행복감 모두에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 중독위험 사용자의 집행기능곤란의 수준이 더 높고, 화용능력과 행복감은 더 낮았다. 셋째, 일반사용자 대비 잠재적위험 사용자 또는 고위험 사용자가 될 확률을 높이는 위험요인은 모취업, 아동의 집행기능곤란 중 주의집중곤란, 정서 통제곤란이었고, 아동의 화용 능력과 행복감은 중독위험 사용자가 될 확률을 낮추는 보호요인이었다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 아동의 미디어중독을 감소시키기 위해선, 아동의 집행기능과 화용능력, 행복감을 고려해야 할 필요성을 알 수 있다. 따라서 아동의 미디어중독을 예방하기 위해 정서통제와 주의집중력, 화용능력을 기를 수 있는 프로그램을 도입함과 동시에 행복감을 증진시킬 수 있는 환경의 제공을 제안한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing the probability of children s addicting to digital media compared to general users. We analyzed the data from the 10th year Korean Children Panel Study (KCPS), including 1,225 mother with their 9-year-old children. The results of this study were as follows: First, one of the four students belonged to the risk user group. Second, there was a statistically significant difference between general users and the risk users in executive function difficulty, pragmatic competence, and happiness. The higher the level of child’s addiction, the level of difficulty in executive function was higher, and the level of pragmatical competence and happiness were lower. Third, the factors that increase the probability of becoming a at-risk or high-risk user compared to the general user were mother s employment, attention-concentration difficulty and emotional control difficulty among the executive functions, whereas child s pragmatical competence and happiness lowered the probability. Therefore, in order to reduce the behavioral aspect of children s digital media addiction, it is necessary to consider the cognitive and emotional aspects together. We also suggest the development and implementation of the program to enhance students’ emotional control, attention-concentration ability, pragmatical competence and happiness.
