퍼포먼스 유아미술활동에 있어 학습자의 자율에 대한 비판적 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 퍼포먼스 미술에 기초한 유아미술활동에 있어 학습자의 자율이 교육적 의의를 가지는 데 있어 교사의 역할이 어떠한지에 대해 분석해 보고 비판적으로 고찰해 보았다. 퍼포먼스 유아미술활동에서 유아의 자율은 어떻게 반영되고 있는지, 교사는 이를 위해 어떤 역할을 하고 있는지를 알아보기 위해 2016년 1월부터 2016년8월까지 총 27주간 일주일에 2회 미술수업을 참여관찰하였다. 퍼포먼스 미술은 탈규범화 및 전이성과 실험성을 고취하고 있어 특히 변질된 예술의 자율성을 강조하고 있다. 이러한 개념을 유아미술활동에 적용하는 것에 있어 학습자의 자율을 극대화하는 것은 중요하다. 이를 위해서 교사의 역할이 축소되는 것이 아니라 면밀하고 정교한 교사의 능력이 확대되어야 한다. 이러한 교사의 전문성이 확보되지 않으면 유아 의 자율이 무분별하게 확대되어 미술활동 과정이 오히려 단순한 흥미적 유희로 머물수 있고 유아 자신의 한계를 벗어나지 못해 무의미한 과정이 될 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze and critically review the role of teachers for the autonomy of children to have educational significance in young children s art activities based on performance art. To identify how children s autonomy is reflected in the performance of young children s art activities and to see what roles teachers play in this regard, we conducted participatory observation of art classes twice a week for 27 weeks from January 2016 to August 2016. The performance art emphasizes, in particular, the changed autonomy of the art, by promoting the denormalization, transition and experimental nature. It is important to maximize the autonomy of learners in applying these concepts to young children’s art activities. For this, the role of teacher should not be reduced but the meticulous and elaborate capabilities of teacher should be enhanced. Without ensuring such expertise of teachers, the autonomy of the young children can be expanded indiscriminately, resulting in the art activities course staying as a simple fun amusement and the children not overcoming their limitation, and the activities may have no tangible significance on the development of children.
