대학생들의 영재교육 참여 경험에 따른 영재교육의 이미지에 대한 인식구조 비교

국문 초록

이 연구는 대학생들의 영재교육 경험에 따라 영재교육의 이미지에 대한 인식구조에 차이가 있는지를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 영재교육 경험이 있는 대학생 282명과 영재교육 경험이 없는 대학생 117명 등 총 399명을 연구대상으로 선정하 여 영재교육의 이미지에 대한 설문을 실시한 후 응답 결과를 언어네트워크분석을 활용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 영재교육 경험이 있는 집단일수록 교육 경험이 없는 집단에 비해 영재교육의 긍정 이미지를 설명할 때 보다 많은 단어를 사용한 반면, 부정이미지에 대해서는 더 적은 단어를 사용하고 있었다. 둘째, 영재교육에 대한 긍정 이미지를 분석한 결과 공통적으로 영재교육이 창의성과 지적능력이 뛰어난 사람을 교육하여 미래사회에 필요한 인재를 양성한다는 것을 긍정 이미지로 인식하고 있었다. 하지만 영재교육 경험이 있는 집단일수록 영재들의 창의성에 중점을 둔 반면, 교육경험이 없는 집단일수록 영재들의 높은 지적 능력을 중심으로 긍정적 이미지를 형성하고 있어 차이를 보였다. 셋째, 영재교육에 대한 부정적 이미지를 분석한 결과 공통적으로 영재교육이 사교육을 유발하고 있다는 인식을 가지고 있었지만, 영재교육 경험이 있는 집단일수록 사교육 관련 이슈를 중심으로 영재교육의 부정적 이미지를 형성한 반면, 교육경험이 없는 집단일수록 ‘차별’이라는 키워드를 중심으로 부정적 이미지를 형성하고 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in perception structure of the image of gifted education according to experiences of university students participating in gifted education. For this purpose, a total of 399 students, including 282 students with experience in gifted education (SEG) and 117 students with no experience in gifted education (SNG), conducted a survey on the image gifted education and analyzed the response results using semantic network analysis. The esults is as follows. First, SEG used more words to explain the positive image of gifted than SNG, while negative images of gifted education using fewer words. Second, as a result of analyzing the positive image of gifted education, it was recognized that in common, the gifted education would foster the talent needed for the future society by educating people with high creativity and intellectual abilities. However, the SEG focused on the creativity of the gifted students, while the SNG were shown a positive image based on the high intellectual ability of the gifted students. Third, as a result of analyzing the negative images of gifted education, it was recognized that gifted education commonly causes the private education. However, the SEG had a negative image of gifted education around issues related to private education, while the SNG had formed a negative images of gifted education that centered on the keyword ‘discrimination’.
