국문 초록

본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 양육참여도와 부부간 의사소통이 어머니의 양육행동에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 실시되었다. 이를 위해 전라북도 J시에 소재한 유아교육기관에 다니고 있는 유아기 자녀를 둔 부부 221쌍을 대상으로 아버지 양육참여도, 부부간 의사소통, 어머니 양육행동에 대한 평정척도를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 활용하여 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아버지의 양육참여도와 어머니 양육행동은 과보호/허용을 제외한 전체요인에서 유의미한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 부부간 의사소통과 어머니 양육행동은 한계설정 요인을 제외한 나머지 3개 요인과 유의미 한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육행동 중 온정/격려에는 아버지의 양육참여도 중 자녀돌보기 및 지도가, 한계설정에는 아버지의 양육참여도 중 자녀와 함께 하는 활동이 가장 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 어머니의 양육행동 중 과보호/허용과 거부/방임은 부부간 의사소통 중 부정적 의사소통이 유의미한 영향력을 나타냈다. 이러한 결과는 어머니의 긍정적 양육행동 수준을 높이기 위한 기초자료가 될 수 있으며 아버지의 양육참여 증진과 부부간 긍정적 의사소통 수준을 높이기 위한 노력이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

We investigated the influence of father’s parenting engagement and marital communications on mother’s parenting behavior. We assessed 221 couples with children attending early childhood education centers in J city, Jeollabukdo for their father’s parenting engagement, marital communications, and mother’s parenting behavior. Collected data were analyzed by correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 program. The main results of this study are summarized as follows. First, father’s parenting engagement and mother’s parenting behavior exhibited a meaningful correlation in all aspects except overprotection/permissiveness. Marital communications and mother’s parenting behavior were also significantly correlated in three factors other than boundary setting. Second, care/guidance among father’s parenting engagement factors most influenced mother’s generosity/encouragement while father’s activity with children most affected mother’s boundary setting. In the meanwhile, negative communication among married couples showed meaningful influence on mother’s overprotection/permissiveness and denial/overindulgence. These results which might serve as basic data to enhance mother’s positive parenting behavior suggest that it is necessary to put efforts on increasing father’s parenting engagement and marital communications.
