대학생의 전공선택동기와 진로결정수준에 따른 자기비난적 우울과 의존적 우울의 차이

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학생들의 전공선택동기와 진로결정수준이 어떠한 양상을 나타내는지 살펴보고, 이들 군집유형에 따라 자기비난적 우울과 의존적 우울에 있어 어떠한 차이를 보이는지 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2017년 3월 서울지역 대학생 450명을 대상을 실시한 설문지 가운데 409명의 자료를 분석하였다. 전공선택동기의 하위변인인 내재적 동기와 외재적 동기, 그리고 진로결정수준을 군집분석한 결과, 총 4집단으로 구분되었다. 군집 1은 ‘갈등적 동기 진로혼란 집단’으로, 군집 2는 ‘내재적 동기 진로결정 집단’으로, 군집 3은 ‘외재적 동기 진로미결정 집단’으로, 군집 4는 ‘외재적 동기 진로결정 집단’으로 명명하였다. 이러한 군집유형에 따라 자기비난적 우울과 의존적 우울의 차이가 있는지 확인한 결과, 자기비난적 우울은 군집 3이 가장 높았고 군집 1, 군집 4, 군집 2 순이었으며, 군집 3과 군집 1은 군집 2에 비해 유의미하게 높은 결과를 보였다. 의존적 우울은 군집 3이 가장 높은 의존적 우울성 향을 보였고 군집 1, 2, 4순이었으며, 군집3은 군집 2와 군집 4에 비해 유의미하게 높은 결과를 보였다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 대학생의 전공선택동기와 진로결정 수준 양상을 확인하였을 뿐만 아니라, 자기비난적 우울과 의존적 우울에 대한 전공 선택동기와 진로결정수준의 역할이 지지됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 시사점과 제한점을 논하였다.

영문 초록

This study examines how college students manifest motivation of major selection and level of career decision and how the cluster types of motivation of major selection and level of career decision affects self-critical depression and dependent depression. The data of 409 college students who were surveyed questionnaires were collected at March, 20017. Cluster analysis using the sub-scales of motivation of major selection, which is, introversive motivation and extroversive motivation, and the level of career decision yielded four cluster types. The first cluster was identified as ‘conflicted motivation and career confused group’. The second cluster was labeled as ‘introversive motivation and career decided group’. The third was ‘extroversive motivation and career undecided group’. The final was ‘extroversive motivation and career decided group’. Analyses on the effects of those cluster types on self-critical depression and dependent depression revealed: Cluster 3 exhibited the highest level of self-critical depression followed by Cluster 1, 4, and 2. Clusters 3 and 1 showed significantly higher level of self-critical depression than Cluster 2. In dependent depression, Cluster 3 exhibited the highest level of dependent depression followed by Cluster 1, 2, and 4. Clusters 3 showed significantly higher level of dependent depression than Cluster 2 and 4. These results confirmed classifications of the motivation of major selection and the level of career decision among college students and they were found to be reinforcing self-critical depression and dependent depression according to the types of motivation of major selection and level of career decision respectively. Implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
