노년층의 구강 건강 상태와 심리적 요인의 관련성

국문 초록

이 연구는 제6기 3차 연도 국민건강영양조사(KNHANES Ⅵ-3) 2015 원시자료를 바탕으로 2015년 국민건강영양조사에 참여한 만 60세 이상 노년층 1,899명을 최종 연구대상으로 구강 건강 상태가 스트레스, 우울감, 자살 생각 등의 심리적 요인에 미치는 영향을 연구하여 노년기 삶의 질 향상과 건강한 심리상태를 지원하기 위한 효율적인 방안을 마련하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 실시하였다. 저작 불편과 치통 경험은 노년층의 우울감, 정신문제 상담, 자살 생각, 스트레스와 관련성이 높게 나타났으며, 구강 건강 상태가 좋지 않은 노년층의 경우 부정적인 심리적 요인을 갖고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 저작 불편은 나이가 많고, 여자인 경우와 가구소득 및 교육수준이 낮고, 우울감을 느끼는 노년층에서 높게 나타났다. 따라서 노년층의 건강한 삶을 지원하기 위해서는 구강 건강관리의 중요성을 인식하고 다뤄야 할 필요성이 있다. 또한, 노년층의 정신건강지원 프로그램을 다각적인 측면에서 체계적으로 관리할 수 있도록 구축하고, 자신에 대한 긍정적인 가치관을 통한 건강하고 성공적인 노후 생활을 영위할 수 있도록 지원할 필요성이 있다.

영문 초록

Based on the 2015 raw data of the 3rd National Health Nutrition Survey for the 6th term(KNHSNES VI-3，this study targeted 1,899 senior citizens of ages 60 or older who participated in the survey concerning how their oral health conditions influenced psychological factors such as stress, depression and thoughts of suicide with the view of providing fundamental data for preparing efficient plans to help support enhancement of the quality of the senior citizens ‘ lives and their healthy psychological state. The inconvenience of mastication and toothache experiences were found to be highly related to the senior citizens’ depression, psychiatric counseling, thoughts of suicide and stress, while the senior citizens whose oral health is not good are known to have negative psychological factors. The inconvenience of mastication was found to be highly correlated to the aged women and the senior citizens whose household income and education level are low, undergoing depression. therefore, it is imperative that the importance of oral health management be dealt with to help support the health of the senior citizens. Furthermore, it is necessary to ensure that the senior citizens’ mental health support programs are systematically managed from multiple angles while providing the support to enable theme to enjoy their healthy and successful lives via positive values about themselves.
