재난피해자의 일상생활경험 -경주지진을 중심으로-

국문 초록

본 연구는 2016년 9월 12일 발생한 경주지진을 중심으로 지진발생 후 피해자의 일상생활이 어떠한지 한국의 사회·문화적 배경 안에서 이해하고 해석하고자 일상생활기술적(ethnographic research method) 연구방법을 적용한 질적 연구이다. 연구 참여자는 총 12명으로, 연구 참여자 모집방법은 의도적 표집방법(purposive sampling)과 눈덩이 표집방법(snowball sampling)을 활용하였다. 자료수집은 심층면담 및 참여관찰, 전화면담을 사용하였으며, 자료수집기간은 2017년 9월부터 2018년 2월까지 실시되었다. 각 연구 참여자의 면담횟수는 2회~3회로 면담시간은 회기별로 90분에서 120분가량 소요 되었다. 자료분석은 Spradley(1980)의 문화기술지 분석방법을 이용하였다. 연구결과 3개의 주제모음, 7개의 주제, 19개의 속성으로 도출되었다. 이를 통한 재난피해자의 일상생활 경험에 관한 통합적 문화중심 주제는『지진에 의해 깨어진 일상을 되찾기 위해 그곳에서 함께 견디기』로 확인되었다. 결론적으로, 지진은 피해주민들의 익숙했던 일상을 무너뜨림으로써, 불안, 공포와 같은 부정정서를 비롯하여 불면, 두통 등과 같은 신체적 불편감을 경험하게 되는 것으로 나타났다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 지진 피해자들은 자신들이 살아 온 삶의 터전에서 다시 일상으로 나아가고자 노력하며 자신의 이웃들과 함께 견디며 나름의 순응적인 방식으로 담담히 받아들임으로써 평온하고 익숙했던 일상으로 나아가고자 기대하는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study is the qualitative research trying to understand and explain how the natural disaster has affected the daily life of the victim on the social and cultural background of Korea focusing on the earthquake which happened in Gyeongju on Sept. 12, 2016 by applying the ethnographic research method. 12 people have participated in the study in a way that they are added until the theoretical saturation level is reached. The data was collected using the informal in-depth interview, participant observation. The collection of data was conducted from Sep. 2017 to Feb. 2018. The frequency of interviews for each informant was 2 or 3 times with each session taking 90 minutes to 120 minutes. The data was analyzed. by using the ethnographic analysis method of Spradley(1980). The result of the study was classified into 3 theme groups, 7 themes and 19 properties. The total cultural theme on the daily life experience of the victim of the earthquake was found to be󰡒Standing there together to recover their daily life which was broken due to the earthquake.󰡓In conclusion, The earthquake breaks down their daily life to which the people were accustomed. Notwithstanding them, the victims try to forget the negative mood such as discomfort and get back to their ordinary track. It was found that they tried to accept the earthquake as it is and get back to their comfortable and accustomed daily life along with the neighbors who shared the experience of earthquake.
