대학생의 자아존중감과 자기조절이 공감능력에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 자아존중감과 자기조절이 공감능력에 미치는 영향을 파악하여 대학생이 공동체 사회에서 필요로 하는 도덕적 역량을 형성하는데 기초자료를 제공하려는 것이다. 연구의 대상은 경기도 4년제 대학교에 다니는 대학생 231명이며, 자기존중감과 자기조절능력과 공감능력 설문지를 활용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 자료를 분석하기 위하여 SPSS 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대상의 일반적 경향을 분석한 결과, 자아존중감의 하위요인인 가치감과 공감능력의 하위요인인 인지적 공감이 가장 높은 평균을 나타내었다. 둘째, 연구변인의 상관을 분석한 결과, 자아만족감과 자기조절양식이 가장 높은 정적 상관을 나타내었으며, 자기만족감과 의지적 억제양식이 가장 높은 부적 상관을 나타내었다. 셋째, 대학생의 자아존중감과 자기조절이 공감능력에 미치는 효과를 분석한 결과, 자기가치감과 자기조절양식은 인지적 공감에 26.3% 정도의 영향력을 나타내었으며, 이 두 요인의 상호작용요인은 인지적 공감에 24.4% 정도의 영향력이 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of self-esteem and self-control on empathy ability of undergraduate students. And eventually we aimed to provide basic data for university students to build moral competencies needed in community society. The objects of the study were 231 undergraduate students attending four-year universities in Gyeonggi-do. The questionnaire which is composed of questions about self-esteem, self-control, and empathy, was used to collect data. And then SPSS program was used to analyze the data. The results were as follows. First, as a result of analyzing general trends of research objects, cognitive empathy which is a sub-factor of empathy ability, and self-value sense which is a sub-factor of self-esteem showed the highest average. Second, as a result of analyzing the correlation of research variables, self-satisfaction and self-regulation style showed the highest positive correlation, and self-satisfaction and willful inhibition style showed the highest negative correlation. Third, as effects of self-esteem and self-control on empathy ability of undergraduate students, the result showed that self-worth and self-regulation style had 26.3% influence on cognitive empathy, and the interaction factor of these two factors had 24.4% influence on cognitive empathy.
