남자간호대학생의 여성건강간호 임상실습 경험

국문 초록

본 연구는 남자 간호학생을 대상으로 여성건강간호 임상실습에서 경험의 의미를 확인하고자 시행되었다. 자료수집 기간은 2016년 2월부터 2017년 2월까지였으며 분만실, 산과병동, 부인과병동 임상실습을 수행한 남자 간호학생 10명을 대상으로 자료가 포화상태에 이를 때까지 심층면접을 시행하였다. 자료분석은 Colaizzi의 현상학적 연구방법에 따라 분석하였고, 분석 결과 4개의 주제모음, 9개의 주제, 13개의 의미 있는 진술을 도출하였다. 도출된 주제모음은 ‘어쩔 수 없는 차별’, ‘실습에 대한 두려움’,‘적지만 의미 있는 경험’, ‘다른 실습지 선택’으로 구조화 되었다. 연구 결과 연구 참여자들은 여성건강간호 임상실습에 여성대상자를 이해하고 실습의 의미를 찾고자 노력하나 대상자의 거부감과 간호사의 차별적인 태도 등으로 실습에 대한 큰 부담과 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 실습을 지도하는 교육자와 임상 현장지도자는 남자 간호학생에 대한 성차별적인 환경을 개선하고 효율적인 실습을 수행할 수 있는 교육환경을 마련하기 위해 다각적인 노력을 기울여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to identify the meaning of male students’ experience with clinical practice in women s health nursing clinic. Data was collected from February 2016 to February 2017, 10 male nursing students who had experience in clinical practicing in delivery room, obstetrics and gynecology clinic were selected, and in-depth interviews were performed until data were fully saturated. Collected data were analyzed using the phenomenological method of Colaizzi, in which meaningful statements were extracted. Four theme clusters were identified from nine themes and thirteen sub-themes. The four theme clusters were 1) unavoidable discrimination, 2) fear of practice, 3) A small but valuable experience, 4) choose another practice part. In this study the male students tried to understand female patients and to find meaning of practice in women health nursing clinical practice. But they had a great deal of burden and difficulty in practicing because of the objection of female patients and the discriminatory attitude of the nurse. therefore professor and nurse should make diverse efforts to improve the gender discrimination environment for male nursing students and to create an educational environment in which they can conduct effective practical training.
