역량중심 교육의 실효적 방안 탐구

국문 초록

한국 교육의 문제점에 대한 비판과 대안에 대한 연구가 최근 들어 매우 다양하게 전개되고 있다. 특히 학교 교육과정 변화가 이론적, 실천적으로 다양한 측면에서 전개되고 있다. 그 중에서 가장 강조되는 것 중의 한 가지가 역량중심 교육이다. 학계에서도 많은 논의와 비판적 담론이 형성되고 있지만, 기존 주입식 교육과 타성에 젖은 무기력한 지식 교육에 대한 대안으로 현실적인 힘을 얻고 있는것도 사실이다. 이러한 맥락에서 역량 교육은 전통적 지식교육의 대안으로 등장하고 있다. 역량교육이 표방하고 있는 가치는 교육적으로 의미가 크다고 본다. 다만 최근에 여러 가지로 제기되는 방안들이 매우 추상적이고 막연하다는 점이다. 동시에 2015 개정 교육과정에서 강조되는 백워드 설계 역시 진정한 이해력을 기르기 위해서 강조되고 있다. 그런데 역량교육이나 이해중심 교육과정, 백워드 설계가 각각 따로따로 논의되고 있어서 많은 혼란을 주고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 역량교육과 백워드 설계를 통합할 수 있는 방안에 대하여 초점을 둔다. 특히 역량중심 교육을 백워드 설계의 틀에 통합시키는 방안에 대하여 탐구하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위하여 문헌 분석과 비판적 논의 형식을 채택하였다. 본 연구의 핵심적인 양 주제는 진정한 지식교육을 추구하고 학습자들의 진정한 앎을 추구하고 있다는 점에서 공통점이 많다. 양자를 총합하여 학교교육의 본질을 회복하는 일에 다양한 방안을 고민할 때이다.

영문 초록

There are many discourses about Korean education and curricular problem in academic community. The very important thing we should pay attention to is about competence-based education. This study focuses the integration of competence-based education into backward design. According to the result of recent research, these two dimensions have been approached separately by irrational tool. Competence-based education emphasized authentic understanding in line of conceptional lens of the competence. It further focuses on enduring understanding as structure of knowledge by backward design and teaching for understanding. This study explores the integrative methods of competence and backward spirit. Competence-based education focuses on improving the uselessness of invaluable knowledge. Backward design aims at authentic understanding. These methods have many similarities in designing schooling. But each of the three parts is separately studied in curriculum studies. From this problem, many researchers suffer from invalid aspect of understanding. The integration of competence-based education to backward design is key factor in reforming school curriculum. In this study, we have explored the integration methods through literature review and philosophical analysis. Competence-based education should proceed to not integrative stance but conflicting tenet from the viewpoint of promoting authentic knowledge education.
