목적 본 연구는 부모의 차별적 양육태도를 통해 연구자는 무엇을 경험하였으며 그로 인한 어려움으로부터 회복과정은 어떠하였는지를 살펴보았다. 방법 연구자가 자신의 개인적 경험에 대해서 사회나 공동체의 맥락과 관련하여 이야기하는 질적연구방법인 자문화기술지를 연구 방법으로 채택하여 부모와의 관계에서 겪은 차별 경험과 회복과정 경험을 기술하였다. 이를 위해 기억자료, 회상자료, 면담자료, 통화기록 등을 분석하여 기술하였다. 결과 첫째라서 차별받은 나는 늘 첫째로 태어난 것의 억울함이 있음에도 불구하고 부모님께 인정받으려고 노력을 했었다. 차별적 양육태도로 낮은 자존감이 형성되어 타인의 시선을 의식하며 사람의 인정에 목말라했고 내면화된 수치심을 가졌었다. 신앙과 배우자의 지지 그리고 대학원에서 성찰의 경험은 존재의 의미를 알아가고 나를 온전히 수용하는 것이 무엇인지를 알아가게 되었다. 결론 차별적 양육태도가 자녀에게 주는 정서적, 심리적 어려움에 대한 심층적 이해를 제공하고 회복과정의 탐색을 통해 차별적 양육태도를 경험한 사람들을 이해하고 상담의 치료적 개입방법을 제공하는데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to explore what the researcher experienced through the discriminatory parenting attitudes of parents and to examine the recovery process from the difficulties that arose as a result. Methods The researcher adopted autoethnography, a qualitative research method where personal experiences are contextualized within societal or communal frameworks, to describe experiences of discrimination and recovery in the relationship with their parents. To achieve this, they analyzed various sources such as memory data, recall data, interview data, and call records. Results Being the eldest, I always felt a sense of injustice about being born first, yet I made efforts to gain my parents' recognition despite this. The discriminatory parenting attitudes led to the development of low self-esteem, making me overly conscious of others' perceptions and craving validation from people, while internalizing a sense of shame. My faith, the support of my spouse, and the reflective experiences during graduate school helped me understand the meaning of existence and learn what it means to fully accept myself. Conclusions This study provides an in-depth understanding of the emotional and psychological difficulties that discriminatory parenting attitudes can impose on children. By exploring the recovery process, it aims to enhance our understanding of individuals who have experienced such attitudes and to offer therapeutic intervention methods for counseling.
