국제 학술지에 게재된 국내 번역학 연구자의 연구 동향 분석 (2000년-2023년)

국문 초록

본 연구는 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 활용하여 2000년부터 2023년 사이에 한국의 번역학(TS) 분야 연구자들이 국제 학술지에 게재한 논문을 분석한다. 우선 본 연구는 번역학 국제 학술지(JTI) 13권의 연구 동향을 한국 TS 학술지와 비교한다. 국내 번역학 학술지 동향과 JTI 동향을 비교해 보면, JTI가 국내 학술지에 비해 번역 관련 연구, 언어 습득, 제2외국어 번역 등 거시적 맥락에 관한 연구가 더 많다는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 JTI에서는 문학번역 관련 연구가 국내 학술지에 비해 적은 것으로 나타났다. 본연구에서 적용한 텍스트 마이닝 기법은 그리 정교하지는 않지만, 국내에서 국제 학술지 논문 게재가 크게 주목받고 있는 시점에 국제 번역학 학술지 연구 동향에 대해 일별할 기회를 제공하는 데 의의가 있다. 또한 인문학에서 오픈 소스 텍스트 마이닝 도구의 적용 방법을 제시함으로써 디지털 인문학의 발전에도 기여하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study examines articles published between 2000 and 2023 in international journals by Korean researchers in the field of Translation Studies (TS) using text mining techniques. First of all, this study compares the research trends in 13 international journals dedicated to translation and interpreting (JTI) with those found in Korean TS journals. When comparing domestic TS trends with those in JTI, it becomes evident that JTI contains more studies on macro-contexts, such as interpretation-related research, language acquisition, and translation into a second language, than domestic journals. Additionally, the study discovered fewer studies related to literary translation in JTI compared to domestic journals. While the text mining technique applied in this study may not be very sophisticated, it holds significance in providing TS researchers with insights into the research trends in international journals, especially at a time when publishing papers in international journals is gaining significant attention in Korea. Furthermore, the demonstration of how to use open-source text mining tools can contribute to the advancement of the digital humanities study field.
