공립대안학교의 성공적 설립 요건에 관한 사례연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구는 공립대안학교의 성공적 설립 요건 분석을 목적으로 수행되었다. 방법 이를 위하여 질적 사례연구의 방법론을 활용하였으며 비교적 최근에 개교한 4개 공립대안학교를 대상으로 하였다. 질적 사례연구를 위해 관련 문헌과 자료 분석을 실시하였으며 학교설립에 관여했던 장학사와 교사 등 8명을 대상으로 심층면담을 진행하여 반복적 비교분석방법을 통해 분석하였다. 결과 분석 결과, 공립대안학교의 성공적 설립 요건으로 1) 교육감과 교육청의 의지와 추진, 2) 사람과 조직, 그리고 협업적 관계, 3) 공감대 확대를 위한 노력: 학교의 공적 역할에 관한 환기, 4) 교사의 참여 기반과 여건의 조성: 자율성과 민주성, 5) 미래 지향적 참여적인 교육과정의 설계, 6) 교육적 공간 구성의 노력 등이 도출되었다. 결론 이와 같은 연구 결과를 바탕으로 공교육의 다양화와 개방화에 관한 의미 있는 사례로서 공립대안학교 설립이 갖는 이론적, 실천적 의의를 살펴볼 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to understand the requirements for the successful establishment of public alternative schools. Methods Case study methodology was employed and in-depth interviews were conducted on the experiences of establishment and operation of public alternative schools with three district superintendents, two school supervisors and three teachers who were involved in the establishment of the four relatively recently opened public alternative schools. Interview data were analyzed following the constant comparative analysis method. Results The experiences of successfully establishing and operating public alternative schools were thematized as 1) the will and promotion of the superintendent of education and the Office of Education, 2) people, organizations, and collaborative relationships, 3) efforts to broaden consensus: public education accountability, 4) establishment of a foundation and conditions for teacher participation, 5) development of a future-oriented and participatory curriculum, and 6) efforts to construct educational space. Conclusions The implications for the creation of public alternative schools were suggested based on these findings.
