국문 초록

이 연구는 철학치료를 개념적으로 규정하고 철학치료의 과정과 실제를 구체적으로 보여주는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구자는 인터뷰법을 활용했다. 연구자는 내담자와 총 3회기의 단기상담을 하였다. 내담자는 20대 초반의 대학생으로 그녀는 돈 문제로 정신적 갈등을 겪고 있었다. 실제 대화를 통하여 알아낸 것은 그녀가 돈을 최대한 모으고 지식을 최대한 축적하는 것이 인생의 지상 과제라는 것이다. 그렇다 보니 그녀는 현재 살아가고 있는 삶에 대한 만족도가 낮았고 행복을 느끼지 못하면서 살고 있었다. 이에 대화를 통하여 그녀가 가지고 있는 가치관과 삶의 방식에 문제가 있다는 것을 그녀가 깨닫도록 도와주었다. 그랬더니 놀랍게도 상담 2주차에 내담자가 자신의 어리석음을 스스로 깨우쳤다. 이렇듯 철학치료는 자신의 어리석음을 스스로 깨우쳐주는 장치이다. 상담자는 내담자의 어리석음이 어디에 있는지 확인하고 어떻게 이를 몰아낼 것인가를 설계한 뒤 최종적으로 내담자가 지혜를 획득하도록 도와주는 일련의 과정이 철학치료다. 이러한 철학치료는 어리석음에 빠져있는 모든 학생들이 지혜로운 삶을 살아가도록 도움을 주는 교육 프로그램으로 평가할 수 있다. 이러한 점 때문에 철학치료는 일종의 철학학습 프로그램이며 이때 내담자는 철학학습자의 위상을 차지한다.

영문 초록

This paper defines philosophical therapy conceptually and specifically shows the process and practice of philosophical therapy. I had a total of three short-term counseling with counselee. My counselee is a college student in her early 20s and she was having a mental conflict over money. What I found out through real conversation is that collecting as much money as she can and accumulating as much knowledge as she can is a top priority in life. As a result, she was not satisfied with her life and was living without feeling happy. Through this dialogue, she helped her realize that there was a problem with her values and way of life. Then, surprisingly, on the second session of counseling, the counselee in charge learned about her mistakes. Like this, philosophical therapy is a device that awakens one’s own foolishness. Philosophical therapy is a series of processes that help a counselee find out where the foolishness of a counselee is, design how to drive it out, and finally help a counselee acquire wisdom. This philosophical therapy can be evaluated as an educational program that helps all students who are immersed in foolishness live a wise life. Because of this, philosophical therapy is a kind of philosophy learning program, and the counselee in charge occupies the status of philosophy learners.
