국문 초록

본 연구는 교사의 물질주의 가치관과 삶의 만족의 관계에 대해서 살펴보고자 하였다. 또한 그 관계에서 전문적 정체성과 소진이 매개역할을 하는지를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 서울, 인천, 경기도, 경남, 충남, 경북 소재 초·중·고등학교에 재직하고 있는 교사 457명 대상으로 2020년 2월 27일부터 4월 5일까지 수집한 자료를 구조방정식모형으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 교사의 물질주의 가치관이 삶의 만족을 직접적으로 예측하지는 못하였지만, 전문적 정체성과 소진을 단순매개하였을 때 삶의 만족에 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 정체성과 소진의 이중매개효과도 유의한 것으로 검증되었다. 본 연구는 교사의 삶의 만족을 높이는 과정을 통합적으로 밝히고자 하였으며, 그 과정에서 교사의 전문적 정체성과 소진의 중요성을 강조하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한 물질주의 가치관이 삶의 만족에 미치는 영향력을 확인함으로써 교사의 삶의 만족을 높이기 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 하였다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the mediating effect of professional identity and burnout in the influence of teachers materialistic values to life satisfaction. For this, the data collected from February 27 to April 5, 2020 were analyzed using a structural equation model for 457 teachers who work in elementary, middle and high schools located in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi-do, Gyeongnam, Chungnam, and Gyeongbuk. As for the measurement tool, the study used Materialism Value Scale, Professional Inventory, Maslach burnout inventory, Satisfaction With Life Scale. This study used SPSS WIN 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 to analyze collected data. The results of the study were as follows. First, the correlations between major variables showed that teachers materialistic value was negatively correlated with professional identity and satisfaction of life and positively correlated with burnout. Professional identity showed negative correlation with burnout and positive correlation with satisfaction of life. Burnout showed a negative correlation with satisfaction of life. Second, the mediating effect of professional identity in the relationship between teacher materialistic values and life satisfaction was significant. In addition, the medium effect of burnout was significant in the relationship between teacher materialistic values and life satisfaction. Third, the dual mediating effect of professional identity and burn was shown in the relationship between materialistic values and life satisfaction. This signifies that teachers with high materialistic values do not have a professional identity as teachers, and the lack of the professional identity can more easily lead to burnout of teachers in the course of performing their duties, and the burnout of teachers will eventually affects reducing satisfaction in life.Finally, the study discussed the result of study and limitation, and made suggestion for follow up studies.
