초등 예비교사의 기후변화 대응 과거행동, 감수성, 실천의지, 지식이 기후변화 대응 행동의도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 초등 예비교사의 기후변화 대응 과거행동, 기후변화 감수성, 기후변화 실천의지, 기후변화 지식이 기후변화 대응 행동의도에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 광역시에 위치한 교육대학교 1학년 7개 심화과정(자연과학계열 3개, 인문사회과학계열 4개) 178명의 초등 예비교사를 대상으로 예비 교사들의 기후변화 대응 과거행동, 기후변화 감수성, 기후변화 실천의지, 기후변화 지식 및 기후변화 대응 행동의도 수준을 측정하였다. 수집된 데이터는 상관관계 분석과 위계적 회귀분석을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 초등 예 비교사들의 기후변화 대응 행동의도는 기후변화 대응 과거행동(r = .530), 기후변화 감수성(r = .675), 기후변화 실천의지(r = .721 ), 그리고 기후변화 지식(r = .436)과 모두 정적으로 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 또한 기후변화 지식, 기후변화 대응 과거행동, 기후변화 감수성, 기후변화 실천의지 모두 기후변화 대응 행동의도를 정적으로 유의하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 이중 기후변화 실천의지가 가장 높은 예측력을 보였으며, 기후변화 감수성, 기후변화 대응 과거행동, 기후변화 지식 순으로 기후변화 대응 행동의도를 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 기후변화 교육에 대한 시사점 및 향후 연구 방향에 대하여 논의하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 초등 예비교사의 기후변화대응 행동의도를 긍정적으로 변화시키기 위한 방안을 모색하는 데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 교원양성 대학교에서 보다 효과적인 기후변화 대응 교육과정을 설계하는 데 중요한 시사점을 제공할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to examine the effects of pre-service elementary school teachers’ past behavior in response to climate change, climate change sensibility, climate change willingness, and climate change knowledge on their behavioral intentions in response to climate change. To achieve this objective, a survey was conducted to assess these variables among pre-service elementary school teachers. The study recruited 178 first-year pre-service elementary school teachers from seven specialized majors—three in the natural sciences and four in the humanities and social sciences—at a national university of education in a metropolitan city. Data were analyzed using correlation and hierarchical regression analyses. The results indicated that behavioral intentions were significantly positively correlated with past behavior (r = .530), sensibility (r = .675), willingness (r = .721), and knowledge (r = .436). Additionally, the study found that knowledge, past behavior, sensibility, and willingness were significant positive predictors of behavioral intentions in response to climate change. Among these variables, willingness exhibited the strongest predictive power, followed by sensibility, past behavior, and knowledge. Based on these findings, the study proposed implications for climate change education and future research directions. The results serve as foundational data for exploring strategies to positively influence the behavioral intentions of pre-service elementary school teachers in response to climate change. Additionally, they offer important insights for designing effective education curricula related to climate change in teacher training universities.
