교육소외에 관한 체계적 문헌고찰 및 관련 변인 메타분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 교실 내 수업 상황에서 일어나는 미시적 관점의 교육소외에 초점을 맞추어 교육소외는 무엇이고, 그와 관련된 요인은 무엇인지 지난 20년간의 국내 연구물을 체계적으로 문헌고찰하고 메타분석하였다. 첫째, 교육소외는 교수학습 과정에서 발생하는 학업으로부터 소외 또는 이탈하여 유의미한 상호작용이 부재한 것을 말한다. 둘째, 교육소외와 관련한 변수는 가정 배경에는 낮은 사회경제적 지위, 가정의 구조적 결손, 낮은 사회적 자본 등 3 가지, 개인 변인으로 성별, 낮은 자존감, 주의산만, 무기력, 비행 등 5 가지, 학교 및 사회구조적 변인으로 분류장치로서 학교 기능, 높은 수업 난도, 낮은 학교만족 및 소속감, 낮은 학교 내 사회적 자본 4 가지를 도출하였다. 연구자 배경으로 인해 교육소외 학생을 판별하고 선정하는 과정의 편향이 존재할 가능성을 배제할 수 없으나 여전히 저소득층 학생, 구조적 결손 가정, 가족의 지지로 대변되는 사회적 자본은 교육소외와 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있었다. 한편 교육소외와 개인 변인을 살펴보면, 성별은 유의한 관계가 나타나지 않았으며, 낮은 자존감, 주의산만, 무기력, 비행 등은 교육소외 학생과 정적인 관계가 확인되었다. 교육소외와 관련하여 분류장치로서 기능하는 학교제도에 문제가 있었다. 아울러 학교 만족과 교육소외는 기존의 관념에서 벗어나 유의한 관계가 나타나지 않았다. 또래로부터의 지지는 교육소외와 가장 높은 부적 효과크기를 지녔다.

영문 초록

This study systematically examined and meta-analyzed studies over the past 20 years, focusing on the micro-concept of education alienation especially in the classroom, and what the factors are related to it. First, education alienation refers to the absence of significant interaction due to alienation or estrangement from studies in the teaching and learning process. Second, the variables related to education alienation derived 3 types of the home background, 5 types of individual variables, and 4 types of school and social structural factors. Home background variables were low socioeconomic status, structural defects in the family, and low family social capital. 5 types of individual variables were gender, low self-esteem, distraction, powerlessness, and delinquency. Last, 4 types of school and social structural factors were school functions, class difficulty, low school satisfaction and belonging, and low social capital in the school. Family social capital represented by the parents’ support, families with structural deficits and low income were closely related to education alienation. Looking at individual variables, gender showed no significant relationship, and students who felt alienated from class were related to low self-esteem, distraction, powerlessness, and delinquency. The school that functions as classification mechanism has caused education alienation. In addition, there was no significant relationship between school satisfaction and education alienation. Teacher support and friend support were identified as significant negative relations with education alienation. In particular, support from peers was the highest effect size.
