국문 초록

본 연구는 주변 환경에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 ‘간판 디자인 개선 제작활동’을 통해 시각 문화 교육의 의미와 가치를 재인식하고 교육적 함의를 밝히는 데에 있다. 연구대상은 대학교에 재학 중인 4학년의 초등 예비 교사들이며, 2019년 4월말부터 6월초까지 진행한 정규 수업내의 미술실기 심화 표현 제작과정의 탐색과 제작 작품 분석을 중심으로 연구를 진행하였다. 먼저 이론적 접근, 다양한 영상 매체 시청을 통해 참여자들의 시각 문화 교육에 관한 관심과 이해의 폭을 넓히고 동기유발을 향상하고자 했다. 활동 방법은 참여자들이 주변 환경에서 개선이 필요한 간판을 스스로 선택하여 분석하고 문제점을 찾아, 새롭게 디자인을 개선하는 실제 제작활동과 표현작품 에 대한 감상활동을 진행하였다. 본 연구에서는 시각 문화 미술교육의 필요성과 역할을 다시 한 번 깨닫고, 예비 초등 교사들의 시각 문화 미술교육의 교수능력을 개발하고 향상할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 아울러 이 시대의 미술교육의 역할에 대해 되새겨보고 이러한 간판 디자인 표현과 같은 교실 외의 실행활동이 폭넓게 이루어져 시각 문화 미술교육의 실천적 방안을 모색하는 데 도움이 될 수 있기를 바란다.

영문 초록

This study aims at recognizing the meaning and value of visual culture education and revealing educational implications through the production activities to improve the design of outdoor signage commonly seen in the surrounding environment. The subjects of study were elementary school preparatory teachers in the fourth year of university. The study focused on the exploration and analysis of the production process of deepening the expression of art practice in regular classes from the end of April to early June 2019. First of all, through theoretical approach and visual media class, wanted to broaden interest and understanding about visual culture education and to improve motivation. In the activity method, participants selected and analyzed signs that needed improvement in the surrounding environment, found problems, and performed actual production activities to improve new designs and appreciation and critique of produced expression works. In this study, students can once again realize the necessity and role of visual culture art education by producing signboard design, and provide the opportunity to develop and improve the teaching ability of preliminary elementary school teachers in visual culture art education. Confirmed that it can. In addition, I would like to reflect on the current role of art education and hope that a wide range of out-of-class activities such as signboard multi-design expression will be available to help find practical ways of visual arts education.
