한국어교육 분야에서의 ‘내러티브 탐구’ 동향 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국어교육 분야의 질적 연구 중 내러티브 탐구 동향을 고찰하여 그 특징을 밝히고 향후 발전 방향을 모색하는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 한국어교육 분야에서 내러티브 탐구가 최초로 수행된 2010년부터 2020년 2월까지 석·박사 학위논문 및 국내 학술지를 검색한 후 원문을 검토하였다. 최종적으로 분석 대상 논문 41편을 선정한 후 연도와 유형별, 연구 주제, 연구 참여자, 연구 참여자 수, 자료 수집 방법, 면담 횟수에 초점을 두고 어떠한 연구가 이루어져 왔는지 분석하였다. 내러티브 탐구는 많은 연구가 이루어지지는 않았으나 해마다 조금씩 꾸준히 연구되고 있다. 연구 주제는 한국어 학습자와 교수자들의 경험 이야기가 가장 많았고, 적응, 정체성, 교사 효능감, 교육 방안, 의사소통, 동기를 주제로 한 연구 등이 있었다. 연구 참여자는 유학생이 참여한 경우가 가장 많았고 한국어 교사, 해외 학습 거주자, 여성결혼이민자, 외국인 근로자, 난민 아동들이 참여하였다. 연구 참여자 수는 1명에서 25명까지 다양했으나 주로 3~8명을 참여자로 선정한 경우가 많았다. 자료 수집 방법은 연구자와 참여자가 일대일 혹은 연구자와 여러 명의 참가자가 함께 하는 심층 면담이 가장 많았으며 참여 관찰이나 연구자의 저널 쓰기와 같은 현장자료가 같이 수집된 경우도 있었다. 면담 횟수는 참여자 개인별로 3회 혹은 2회를 실시한 경우가 가장 많았다. 본 연구는 그동안 한국어교육 분야에서 이루어진 내러티브 탐구 동향을 분석하고 앞으로 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to research the narrative inquiry trend among the qualitative studies in Korean language education, and to reveal its characteristics and to seek the direction of future development. To this end, we searched the master s and doctoral theses and domestic journals and the original text from 2010 to February 2020, when narrative exploration was first conducted in the field of Korean language education. 41 these to be analyzed were finally selected, and analyzed which study has been made by focusing on year, type, research topic, research participants, number of participants and method of data collection and numbers of interview. Not many narrative inquiries have been made but are being studied little by little every year. The largest number of Research topics were the stories experienced by Korean learners and professors, including adaptation, identity, teacher efficacy, education methods, communication and motivation. The largest numbers of participants were international students followed by Korean language teachers, overseas study residents, female marriage immigrants, foreign workers and refugee children. The number of participants in the study ranged from one to 25, but the group of three to eight were mostly selected as participants. The data collection methods most frequently used were in-depth interview in which one-on-one or multiple researchers and participants participate in, and some cases collect data along with field text such as participating observation or journal writing. The frequency of interview most used were 3 or 2 times by each participant. This study is meaningful in that it analyzes narrative inquiry trend which has been made in Korean language education and suggests its future direction.
