국문 초록

이 연구는 강원도 내 탈북 청소년 학습자의 문식성 실태를 파악하여, 이를 향상시키는 데 그 목적이 있다. 기존의 탈북 학생의 문식성에 대한 연구는 꾸준하게 진행되고 있지만 아직 초창기라고 할 수 있으며, 중등 교육 차원에서의 본격화된 연구는 이루어지지 못하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 통일과 지리적으로 가장 밀접한 관련이 있다고 할 수 있는 강원 지역의 탈북 청소년에 대한 연구는 이루어지지 않고 있음을 확인해 볼 수 있었다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 강원도 내 탈북 청소년 학생들의 현황을 파악하고 일반 학교에서 이들을 위한 어떠한 교육 프로그램이 지원되고 있는지, 이들의 문식성 향상을 위해서는 어떠한 교육 내용이 제공되어야 하는지에 대한 기초 연구를 진행하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 원주시 소재 B중학교에서 탈북 청소년 L 학습자를 2018년 담임 학급에서 지도한 R 교사의 전문가 인터뷰와 L 학습자의 언어 문식성 관련 활동지를 바탕으로 연구를 수행하였다. 이 연구는 강원도 내 탈북 청소년 학습자의 문식성 향상을 위한 기초 연구지만, 연구 참여자가 1명뿐이라는 근본적인 한계를 지닌다. 그러나 본고의 논의가 강원도를 넘어서 한반도 이남의 탈북 청소년 학습자의 문식성에 대한 관심을 환기시킬 수 있는 미미하지만 작은 시작이길 기대해 본다.

영문 초록

The research aims to improve the literacy of young North Korean defectors in Gangwon Province. While the existing research on the literacy of North Korean students has been carried out steadily, it can be said that it is still in its early stages, and that no full-fledged research has been conducted at the secondary education level. It was also confirmed that no research has been conducted on young North Korean defectors in Gangwon Province, which can be said to be most closely related to unification. Therefore, the research aims to identify the current status of young North Korean defectors in Gangwon Province and conduct basic research on what education programs are being provided for them in general schools and what education contents should be provided to improve their literacy. To this end, the research was conducted based on the expert interviews of R teachers who guided young North Korean defectors L learners in their homeroom classes in 2018 at B Middle School in Wonju and on L learners places of activities related to language literacy. The study is a basic study aimed at improving the literacy of young North Korean learners in Gangwon Province, but it has a fundamental limitation that only one person participated in the study. However, we hope that this discussion will be a minor but small start to arouse interest in the literacy of young North Korean defectors south of the Korean Peninsula beyond Gangwon Province.
