학령기 아동의 형태소인식과 어휘능력

국문 초록

본 연구는 학령기 1,3,5학년 일반아동을 대상으로 단어 유형에 따른 형태소 인식능력의 발달적 특성을 살펴보았다. 또한 어휘습득과 관련된 읽기, 음운처리, 형태처리 변인과의 상관관계를 분석하고 이들 변인들 중 어휘능력을 예측해주는 변인이 무엇인지를 알아보았다. 본 연구는 약 1년 간 방학기간을 이용하여 총 78명의 아동을 대상으로 합성어, 파생어 및 투명도를 고려한 형태소인식 과제와 낱말해독, 음운인식, 음운기억, 어휘 과제를 실시하였다. 연구결과 형태소인식능력은 학년에 따라 수행력이 증가하는 것으로 나타났는데 모든 학년에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 과제 유형별로는 모든 학년에서 합성어와 투명과제를 더 잘 수행하였으며, 특히 투명도와 학년에 따른 상호작용 효과가 유의하게 나타났는데 학년이 높아질수록 투명과 불투명 과제의 수행력의 차이가 줄어드는 특성으로 보여줬다. 어휘, 낱말해독, 음운처리, 형태인식 변인간 상관이 모두 유의하였으며, 형태인식능력이 어휘능력의 주요 예측변인으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 학령기 아동의 어휘지도에 형태소 인식능력에 대한 고려할 필요성이 있음을 임상적으로 시사해주고 있다.

영문 초록

This study examined the developmental characteristics of morphological awareness ability according to word type for general children in 1st, 3rd and 5th grade. In addition, this study analyzed the correlation between vocabulary, reading, phonological processing, and morphological processing variables, and examined which variables predicted vocabulary ability among these variables. In this study, a total of 78 children evaluated morphological perception, word reading, phonological perception, phonological memory, and vocabulary tasks, taking into account compound words, derivatives, and transparency using the vacation period for about a year. The results showed that morphological awareness ability increased with grade and as a result of the post-test,, there were significant differences in all grades. By task type, compound words and transparent tasks were better performed in all grades. In particular, the effect of transparency and grade interactions was significant. The correlations between vocabulary, word reading, phonological processing, and morphological awareness variables were all significant. These findings suggest clinically the necessity of considering morphological cognition in school age vocabulary guidance. Morphological awareness ability was the main predictor of vocabulary ability.
