전통무예(傳統武藝)의 문화적 활용

국문 초록

이 연구에서는 전통무예(傳統武藝)의 문화적 활용에 대해 살펴보았다. 특히 조선시대 정조대왕의 어명으로 편찬된 무예도보통지(武藝圖譜通志)의 무예이십사기(武藝二十四技)와 무과시취(武科試取)의 중요 과목이었으며 고대로부터 우리선조들이 잘 하였던 기사(騎射)에 대해 살펴보고 이를 근간으로 연구, 시현, 공연하고 있는 대표적인 단체와 개인에 대해 분석하였다. 대표적인 단체와 개인을 살펴보았을 때 보(步) 십팔기(十八技)를 위주로 하는 사)대한십팔기협회(大韓十八技協會)와 마상육기(馬上六技) 및 기사(騎射)를 주로 하는 사)한민족마상무예격구협회(韓民族馬上武藝擊毬協會)가 있으며, 무예이십사기(武藝二十四技) 전체를 연구, 시현, 공연을 하고 있는 단체나 개인은 경당(扃堂)의 이십사반무예(二十四般武藝)를 수련했었음을 알 수 있다. 무예도보통지(武藝圖譜通志)의 무예이십사기(武藝二十四技)와 기사(騎射)는 단체나 개인의 연구에 따라 몸동작이 달리 표현될 수 있으며 실제적으로 차이를 보이고 있다. 연구와 시현, 공연의 표현은 다르나 각 지역에서 문화적 활용 범위를 높이는 것은 우리 문화의 전통 계승이라는 차원에서 매우 긍정적으로 평가할 수 있다.

영문 초록

In this academic study, we examined the cultural use of Korean traditional martial art. In particular, it was an important subject of Mugwasichwi(military exam) and Muyeisibsagi (The martial art 24 technic) of Muyedobotongii which had been created by the order of the King of Chosun Dynasty-King Jeonju. We investigated the horse riding and air shouting studies that our ancestors used from ancient times and examined the representative groups and people who research, demonstrate and make performance based on it. If we have a look on a representative groups and people which have a research demonstrate and perform Muyeisibsagi (The martial art 24 technic) of Muyedobotongii and Gisa (horse riding and air shouting), there is Sa) Daehansibpalgihyeobhoe (Korean 18 technic association) which mainly focus on Bo Sippalgi (18 infantry technic) and Sa) Hanminjogmasangmuyegyeogguhyeobhoe (Korean nation horse riding gyeoggu association) which mainly focus on Masang-yuggi (Horse riding’s 6 technic) and Gisa(Horse riding and air shouting), also we can see groups and people who study, demonstrate and perform all parts of Muyeisibsagi (The martial art 24 technic) and have trained Gyeongdang Isibsabanmuye. Muyeisibsagi (The martial art 24 technic) of Muyedobotongii and Gisa (horse riding and air shouting) could be expressed differently depending on the research of the group or people and it shows real differences in practice. It s a good phenomenon of our culture which increase the range of cultural applications in each region, because of possibility of varied expressions depending on research, presentation and performances.
