텔레비전 콘텐츠의 역사 교육 적용 방법 고찰

국문 초록

매체 환경의 변화로 인해 오늘날의 청소년들이 세상과 소통하는 방식은 과거와는 다르다. 그런 만큼 기존의 교과서 위주의 학습 방법은 이들에게 효과적이지 않다. 그리하여 본고에서는 청소년을 위한 인문 교육에 적용 가능한 콘텐츠로서 텔레비전 예능 프로그램을 고찰해 보았다. <1박 2일>은 대표적인 여행 콘텐츠로서 텔레비전이 매개한 유사 체험을 실재화함으로써 자기 인식화하도록 하는 소통방식을 지니고 있다. 이러한 소통 방식은 거대 담론이 사라지고 개인이 중요해진 상황 속에서 역사를 자기화하기 어려운 오늘날의 청소년들에게 역사를 대하는 태도에 대한 인식 전환을 가지고 올 수 있도록 할 수 있다. 즉, 역사를 체감(體感)하도록 하여 그것이 단순히 과거의 기록이 아니라 나를 구성하는 하나의 인자로서 받아들일 수 있도록 할 수 있다. 본고에서는 이러한 인식이 가능하게 하는 <1박 2일>의 서사 전략을 2016년 3월 안중근 서거 106주기를 앞두고 방영된 ‘혹한기 졸업 특집 하얼빈을 가다’를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 먼저 이들은 안중근 의사가 이토 히로부미를 격살하기까지 5일간의 행적들을 밟아나가는 과정을 통해 추위로 대변되던 하얼빈이라는 공간을 역사적 장소로 새롭게 인식하게 되었다. 즉, 공간에 시간을 더하여 서사화하는 과정을 통해 하얼빈이라는 공간에 장소성을 부여하게 된 것이다. 또한 공간을 이동할 때마다 출연자들에게는 안중근 의사와 관련한 퀴즈가 제시된다. 각각의 공간에 얽힌 퀴즈들은 결국 한 편의 영웅 서사의 구조를 이루며 자연스럽게 안중근 의사를 영웅으로서 인식하도록 한다. 마지막으로 이 프로그램은 여타 프로그램에서 역사를 제시하던 방식과는 다르게 끊임없이 그 인물이 되어 ‘만약 내가 ~라면’이라는 가정하도록 한다. 즉 스스로 경험하여 판단함으로써 인물을 내재화할 수 있도록 하는 것이다. 그리고 이러한 서사 전략들은 역사 교과 교육을 행해지는 현장에서 충분히 활용됨직하다.

영문 초록

Due to the change of media circumstances, the way of today’s youth to communicate with the world is different from the past. So the textbook based studying method is not effective to them. Therefore this study researched TV entertainment show which can be applied to humanities curriculum for youth. <1 Night 2 Days> is a representative tour content, it has the communication method of self-awareness by realizing the similar experience mediated by TV. Such a way to communicate can bring the awareness change to the attitudes toward history of youth, who have difficulties in internalizing history under the situation when big discussions disappeared and each individual got important. That is, it allows youth to accept history not as a simple record of past but as a factor which consists myself through experience of history. This study researched the narrative strategy of <1 Night 2 Days> which allows such an awareness through ‘Cold weather graduation special, go to Harbin’ which was aired to commemorate the 100thanniversary of Patriot Ahn Jung-geun’s death in March 2016. First hey came to newly recognize Harbin, a space that has been represented by cold, as a historical place during process of stepping through five days of activities by Patriot Ahn Jung-geun until assassinating Itō Hirobumi. That is, placeness is given to the space of Harbin through the process to narrate by adding time to space. In addition, whenever moving to another space, quizzes related to Patriot Ahn Jung-geun are suggested to casts. Quizzes tangled in each space form the structure of one heroic narrative and naturally allow them to recognize Patriot Ahn Jung-geun as a hero. Finally, this show, unlike the way in which history was presented by other programs, becomes such a figure continuously and allows them to assume ‘if I were’. That is, it makes them to internalize such a figure by experiencing and judging oneself.
