국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 수학적 모델링 과정을 의사소통학적으로 분석하는 것이다. 이러한 목적 달성을 위해 고등학교 3학년 학생 6명에게 수학적 모델링 과제를 제공하고 해결하도록 한 후 모델링 과정의 공통성과 대표성을 바탕으로 2019년 6월 7일 학생 2명을 인터뷰하고 분석하였다. 그 결과, 수학적 모델링 과정에서 학생들에게 맥락화된 과제 상황 설정의 중요성과 더불어 단어와 시각적 매개체를 과정(process)에서 대상(object) 수준으로 사용할 수 있도록 과제를 개발할 필요가 있다는 결론을 내릴 수 있었다. 이러한 결론을 바탕으로 향후 수학적 모델링 과제를 개발하거나, 학생들이 모델링 과정을 경험할 수 있도록 도움을 주기 위한 교사의 역할에 대한 구체적인 방향성을 제공하였다고 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the mathematical modeling process based on the use of words and visual mediators. To accomplish this goal, six high school students were provided with and solved mathematical modeling tasks, and two students were interviewed and analyzed based on the commonality and representativeness of the modeling process. As a result, it was concluded that, in addition to the importance of contextual task setting for students in the mathematical modeling process, the task needs to be developed so that words and visual mediators can be used at the object level in the process. Based on these conclusions, it can be said that it provided specific directions on the role of teachers to develop future mathematical modeling tasks or to help students experience the modeling process
