잠재전이분석을 활용한 청소년의 다문화시민성 변화 양상 및 영향요인 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 다문화시민성 함양을 위한 교육적 시사점을 논의하기 위하여 청소년기 다문화시민성 잠재프로파일의 변화양상을 분석하고, 다문화시민성 잠재프로파일에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐구하였다. 연구 수행을 위하여 한국아동청소년패널조사 (KCYPS) 초 4 패널의 6차년도(2015)와 7차년도(2016)년도 설문에 모두 응답한 1936명의 데이터를 근거로 잠재전이분석법을 사용하였고, 다문화시민성 측정 지표로 ‘자아정체감, 진로정체감, 다문화수용성, 지역사회인식, 공동체의식’이 포함된 ‘다문화 시민성 기반 역량’을 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 청소년의 다문화시민성 잠재프로파일은중학교와 고등학교 시기에 거의 유사한 양상을 보였다. 또한, 다문화시민성의 기반이 되는 역량들은 학교급 변화에 따라 지속적으로 유지되는 안정성과 다른 집단으 의 변화 가능성이 모두 확인되었다. 마지막으로 자아존중감, 부모양육태도, 교우관계 및 교사관계가 다문화시민성에 유의미한 영향을 주는 요인으로 분석되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 다문화시민성 함양을 위해서는 교육구성원 모두의 노력과 정책적 뒷받침이 필요함을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

This study identified the transition patterns of adolescents’ profiles of multicultural citizenship and explored the influential factors on each multicultural citizenship profile. The Latent Transition Analysis(LTA) was conducted using the 6th(2015) and 7th(2016) data from Korean Children and Youth Panel Study(KCYPS)(N=1,936) for the analysis. The competencies based on multicultural citizenship including self-identity, career identity, multicutural acceptability, community consciousness and sense of community were used as indicators of measuring adolescents’ multicultural citizenship. Results were as follows. First, adolescents’ profiles of multicultural citizenship showed approximately similar patterns at middle school and high school. Second, the competencies based on multicultural citizenship showed both stability and changeability during the transition from middle school to high school. Third, self-respect, parenting styles, peer relationship, and relationship with teachers had significant effects on adolescents multicultural citizenship profiles. Based on these findings, policy implications were discussed for the improvement of multicultural citizenship.
