비 체육교과 교사의 야구부장 역할 경험에 관한 내러티브 탐구 -중학교 국어교사 사례를 중심으로-

국문 초록

이 내러티브 연구는 중학교 비 체육교과 교사의 야구부장 역할 경험에 관한 이야 기를 기술하고, 그 이야기에 내재되어 있는 교육적 의미를 심층적으로 탐색하는 데목적이 있다. 연구 참여자는 결정적 사례 표집 방법을 사용하여 20년 경력의 중학교 국어교사인 김시인 교사를 선정하였다. 자료는 김시인 교사가 1년 동안 수행한 야구 부장 역할 경험 이야기에 관한 5회의 심층면담과 문서자료를 통해 수집하였으며, Clandinin & Connelly(2000)의 내러티브 방법으로 연구 텍스트를 구성하였다. 또한, Patton(1991)의 귀납적 범주분석 방법으로 분석하여 김시인 교사의 야구부장 역할을 수행한 경험에 대해 시공간에 등장한 인물과 사건 속에서 이루어진 관계를 연관 지으며 이야기하였고, 그 교육적 의미를 해석하여 다시 이야기하였다. 김시인 교사는 국어교사임에도 불구하고 야구부장 역할을 통보받았다. 하지만 부당한 업무분장에 관하여 관리자와의 협의를 통해 업무를 조정하며 억지로 야구부장 역할을 수용하였 다. 이렇게 야구부장을 맡게 된 김시인은 체육교사들에게 도움을 받으며 학생선수, 학부모, 코치진을 알아가는 등 점점 역할에 익숙해지고 있었다. 이러한 과정을 통해 최저학력제 시행하기, 대회 성적 올리기, 바람직한 운동부를 만들기 위해 노력하며 야구부장의 역할을 다하고 있었다. 이 이야기에 탐색된 의미는 ‘초협력자(超協力子) 를 향하여’, ‘역지사지(易地思之)를 향하여’, ‘일만시간(壹萬時間)을 향하여’라는 교육적 의미가 담겨있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this narrative study is to describe the story about the role experience of head teacher of a baseball team in middle school non P.E. teacher and explore deeply the educational meaning inherent in the story. Methods: As the research participant this research selected Kim Si-In, a middle school Korean teacher with 20 years’ experience by using decisive example sampling method. As the research data, this research collected the story of teacher Kim Si-In’s role experience in baseball club head during the last 1 year through 5 sessions of in-depth interview and documents, and composed a research text, based on Clandinin & Connelly(2000)’s narrative method. Also, this research described the story associating with the relation between the characters and the events of the time and space regarding teacher Kim Si-In’s role experience in baseball club head based on Patton(1991)’s inductive category analysis, and again described by interpreting the educational significance. Results: Nevertheless a Korean language teacher, Kim Si-In was appointed as a baseball team head teacher. however, he reluctantly accepted baseball club head role by adjusting his duty through agreement with a manager regarding unreasonable work division. This way, Kim Si-In accepted baseball club head and came to adapt himself to the role, learning about student players, school parent and coaching staffs. Through this process, he committed himself to baseball team head teacher making efforts to perform the baseball team head teacher role, performing minimum academic ability system, getting excellent result at baseball games, making desirable athletic team. Conclusion: Also, this research investigated the educational significance in the story, such as ‘towards super cooperator’, ‘towards walk in someone’s shoes’, ‘towards one thousand hours’.
