유치원 교사가 인식하는 ‘사회과학 지식’ 영역에 대한 중요도와 실행도 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유치원 교사들이 사회교육을 실행하는 데 있어서 ‘사회과학 지식’ 영역에 대한 인식을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 교사 313명을 대상으로 설문지를 활용하여 ‘사회과학 지식’ 영역에 대한 중요도와 실행도를 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 보리치(Borich) 요구도와 The Locus for Focus 모델을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 교사들이 인식하는 사회과학 지식 영역에 대한 중요도와 실행도 간에는 유의미한 차이가 있었으며 둘째, 사회과학 지식 영역에 대한 목표, 내용, 교수방법, 평가의 각 항목별로 보았을 때 우선적으로 고려해야 할 내용들이 추출되었다. 본 연구를 통해 교사들은 유아사회교육의 한 영역으로 사회과학 지식 분야에 대한 중요성에 대해서는 높게 인식하고 있으나 실제 실행에 있어서는 그렇지 않음을 알수 있었다. 연구결과를 기초로 유치원 교사들의 사회과학 지식 영역에 대한 인식 제 고와 사회과학 지식 영역의 교육수행을 지원할 수 있는 방안에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to analyze the teachers demands for ‘social science knowledge’ education, analyzing the importance and performance perceived by kindergarten teachers. For this purpose, this study collected data, utilizing questionnaires about social scientific knowledge education with 313 kindergarten teachers. The collected data were analyzed, utilizing Borich needs analysis and the Locus for Focus model. As a result of the study, first, there were significant differences in the importance and performance of the social scientific knowledge education perceived by the teachers. second, the contents to be considered in the goal, content, teaching method, and evaluation of the social science knowledge domain were extracted. Through this study, it is found that teachers are highly aware of the importance of social science knowledge field as an area of early childhood social education, but they are not in actual practice. Therefore, it is necessary to seek ways to support the early childhood teachers awareness of the social science knowledge domain and support the education of the social science knowledge domain.
