예비 유아교사의 ‘우연적 발견(세렌디퍼티: Serendipity)’ 수업 경험을 통한 유아의 놀이에 대한 인식의 변화 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 예비 유아교사들이 “우연적 발견 즉 세렌디퍼티(serendipity)” 수업을 경험하면서 유아의 놀이에 대해 어떻게 인식이 변화되어 가는지를 탐구하였다. 이를 위해 S대학교 유아교육과 2학년 학생에게 15주간 우연적 발견(세렌디퍼티) 수업을 실시하였고, 연구에 참여하기를 희망한 14명의 예비 유아교사들과 2018년 3월 5일부터 6월 22일까지 심층면담을 실시하고 반성적 저널과 참관일지를 수집한 후 Nvivo 9을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다양한 교과를 통합한 형태의 세렌디퍼티 수 업을 경험하면서 예비 유아교사들이 유아의 놀이에 대해 기존에 가지고 있던 편향된 생각에서 좀 더 열린 사고, 유아 주도적인 놀이를 지원하기 위해 유아의 생각과 느낌에 귀를 기울이는 자세에 관심을 갖게 되었다.

영문 초록

This study explored the change of perceptions about young children s play of pre-service early childhood teachers through accidental discovery(serendipity) course. The subjects were 14 sophomore students enrolled in a four-year early childhood eduation program. Data were collected from reflective journals, in-depth interviews and field notes, and were analyzed by using qualitative methods. The research results were as follows: First, pre-service early childhood teachers perceived that experiencing serendipity through child-centered play required grand innovation, preparing educational practices with writing educational plans needed to admitting young children s thoughts and opinions. Second, pre-service early childhood teachers have learned that teachers should listen to young children to express their needs and develop child-centered play education. Based on the results, effective educational programs for supporting serendipity of pre-service early childhood teachers were discussed.
