3,4학년 사회과 ‘읽기 자료’에 대한 초등학생들의 인식 조사

국문 초록

본 연구는 2009개정 교육과정에 따른 3, 4학년 사회 교과서 내의 ‘읽기 자료’에 대한 학생들의 인식을 조사하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 사회과 ‘읽기 자료’에 대한 학생들의 선호도와 선호하는 유형, 선호하는 이유, 사회과에 대한 태도 등을 조 사하고, 사회과 ‘읽기 자료’ 선호도 및 선호하는 유형과 각 요인들의 관련성을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 첫째, 학생들은 사회과 교과서에 제시된 ‘읽기 자료’를 대체적으로 선호하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 사회에 대해 긍정적인 태도를 가진 학생일수록, 사회를 좋아할수록 사회과 ‘읽기 자료’를 더 많이 선호하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 학생들은 ‘개념’형의 ‘읽기 자료’를 가장 선호하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 학생들이 사회과 ‘읽기 자료’를 선호하는 이유는 ‘새로운 것을 알게 되어서’가 가장 높게 나타났고, ‘내용이 사회 공부에 도움이 되어서’, ‘삽화가 재미있어서’ 순으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과가 사회과 교과서 서술 및 교수․학습 설계에 적용된다면 사회과 학습에 대한 학생들의 관심과 흥미 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이라 생각된다.

영문 초록

The Purpose of this study is to investigate how 3rd and 4th grade elementary students view about ‘Social Studies story’, which is recently inserted in the new version of social studies textbook. For the studies, 109 3rd graders at 1 school were considered in the area of Seoul. The degree of student’s preference, preferable social topics from ‘Social studies story’, the reason for this preference, and their attitudes toward general social studies were examined. The results of the study are summarized : First, the students who have more interests and affirmative attitudes about social studies subjects with high scores are more favored about ‘Social studies story’. Second, generally the students prefer reading topics in the order of 1) ‘concept’ 2) ‘deepening’ and 3) ‘expanding’. Third, the student’s interests about ‘Social studies story’ was mostly raised from the new social topics in the book. And it was also raised partly from it helped social studied learning. Based on the results of study, I included some suggestions for the improved ‘Social studies Story’ and their utilization.
