학습자 중심 교육에서의 좋은 학교의 의미 탐색

국문 초록

학교는 오늘날 교육의 많은 부분을 담당하고 있는 공적 기관으로서 그 역할의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 사회 구성원들의 요구와 바람을 반영하고 학교교육의 대상인 학습자의 만족을 이끌어낼 수 있는 좋은 학교의 의미를 탐색하고자 좋은 학교의 특성 요인들을 살펴본 후 학교 수준, 교실 수준, 학생 수준으로 구분하여 정리하였다. 학습자 중심 교육을 위한 좋은 학교는 합리적 의사소통에 기반한 학교 목표 수립과 공유, 목표에 기반한 교육과정의 수립, 학교 구성원간의 신뢰로운 관 계 형성, 교직원들의 지속적인 자기개발, 질서와 규율이 있는 안전한 학교 풍토, 학부모의 긍정적 학교 참여와 같은 학교 수준의 특성 요인을 필요로 한다. 교실 수준에서는 학생의 성취에 대한 높은 기대, 교사의 효율적 교수 전략, 학습에 집중하게 하 는 매력적인 학습 환경, 학생 진보에 대한 신중한 평가와 모니터링이 중요한 요인이다. 마지막으로 학생 수준에서는 활동적인 참여와 책임감 공유를 통한 높은 자아개념 형성, 학생의 권리와 책무 강조, 자율적 학습의 격려, 과제를 학습할 충분한 기회 와 시간, 기본 기능 획득에 대한 강조를 특성요인으로 도출하였다. 마지막으로 이러한 좋은 학교의 특성 요인을 바탕으로 좋은 학교의 의미와 성격을 정리하였다.

영문 초록

The school is a public institution in charge of a large part of today’s education and the importance of it’s role is growing. This study explored the meaning of good school that can reflect the needs and wishes of members of society and get learners’ satisfaction and arranged the characteristic factors of good school by separate school level, classroom level, student level. The good school for the learner-centered education needs the school level factors such as establishment of the school goals based on reasonable communication and sharing, establishment of the curriculum based on the goals, formation of reliable relationship between school staffs, continued self-development of school staffs, safe and orderly school climate, positive parental involvement in school. There are the classroom level factors such as a high level of expectation for student achievement, effective teaching strategies, attractive learning environment that is focused on learning, careful evaluation and monitoring about student progress. Finally, the student level factors such as a high self-concept that was formed through active participation and shared responsibility, emphasis of student’s right and responsibility, encouragement of autonomous learning, sufficient opportunities and times that learn tasks, emphasis on acquirement of basic skills were derived. Finally, the meaning and nature of the good school based on the characteristics of the good school were reified.
