김훈 역사소설에 나타난 기억의 양상

국문 초록

김훈의 역사소설들은 임진왜란, 병자호란, 한국전쟁과 같은 전쟁을 서사적 소재로 삼고 있다. 2000년대 이후에 발표한 『칼의 노래』, 『남한산성』, 『공터에서』와 같은 작품들에서 이를 볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 이들 세 작품을 중심으로 김훈의 역사소설에 나타난 기억의 양상을 밝힌 것이다. 『칼의 노래』에는 길삼봉과 의병장들을 분석한 결과, 공식기억에서 배제된 소수자의 기억이 권력투쟁의 산물임을 드러냈다. 이순신은 종사관의 대화나 조선인 포로를 대할 때 타자의식을 나타내는데 이는 애민정신과 맞물려 있다. 『남한산성』은 하층민 출신으로 서날쇠와 정명수가 나온다. 이들은 공식기억에서 배제된 대항기억을 보여주었다. 격서 이야기는 성 밖에서 일어난 일로 병자호란 당시 저항한 흔적을 보여준다. 병자호란의 상징적 장소가 삼전도로 기억되는 것은 망각의 장소인 홍제천를 잊었기에 가능한 것이다. 『공터에서』는 마 씨(馬 氏) 집안의 수난사를 담고 있다. 서울 남산경찰서는 마 씨 집안과 악연이 있는 기억의 장소이다. 흥남부두는 한국전쟁 당시 이도순이 가족과 헤어진 장소로, 개인의 기억이 집단기억과 결부됨을 보여주었다.

영문 초록

Kim Hoon s historical novels are dealing with wars such as Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592, Second Manchu invasion of Korea, and the Korean War. They are found in his novels, The Song of A Sword, The Fortress, and In the Vacant Lot, which were released after 2000s. This study lights on the phases of memories in Kim Hoon’s historical novels based on the three novels above. In The Song of A Sword, as the result of analysing Kil Sam Bong and the generals of the Righteous Armies it is found that the memories of the minority who were excluded from the fair memory were the products of the power struggle. Admiral Lee often shows his consciousness of others when he talks with officials or the Korean captives, which is connected with his love of people. In the novel The Fortress, Seo Nal Soi, and Jeong Myung Soo show their resisting memories, excluded from the official memory. The expelling announcement paper story shows an activity of people resisting the Second Manchu Invasion of Korea. The novel reveals that the reason Korean people think Samjeondo as a symbolic place of the Second Manchu Invasion of Korea is that they have forgotten the Hongjecheon. The novel, In the Vacant Lot depicts the story of distress in the family of Ma. It reveals that the Namsan Police Station is the worst-fated place with the family. The Heungnam Bay where Lee Do Soon was parted with the family is the place a personal memory is mixed with the collective memories.
