장애 위험 유아의 발달 검사 권유 과정에서 경험하는 유아교사의 어려움

국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 장애 위험 유아의 발달 검사 권유 과정에서 경험하는 유아교사의 어려움을 탐색하였다. 방법 서울 지역 사립 유치원 교사 8명을 대상으로 2회의 심층면담을 실시한 후, 질적 분석 방법을 통해 결과를 도출하였다. 결과 장애 위험 유아의 발달 검사 권유 과정에서 경험하는 유아교사의 어려움은 ‘장애 위험 요인 판단 시 객관성 확보에서의 어려움’, ‘유아 발달 상태에 대한 부모와 교사 간 인지 및 수용 수준의 간극’, ‘부모의 반응과 교사의 책무성 사이에서의 갈등’, ‘전문적 정보 제공에서의 한계’의 4가지 양상으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구는 유아교사가 장애 위험 유아의 발달 검사 권유 과정에서 경험하는 어려움의 실례와 그에 따른 교육적 함의를 제시하였다는 측면에서 의의를 가진다. 더불어 발달 검사 권유 과정에서의 현장 교사들의 구체적인 지원 요구 및 부모-교사 간 긍정적인 의사소통을 지원하기 위한 방안에 대해 지속적으로 논의될 필요가 있겠다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate the difficulties experienced by teachers in early childhood education in the process of advising developmental inventory tests. Methods After conducting 2 in-depth interviews with eight private kindergarten teachers in Seoul, the results were deduced through a qualitative analysis method. Results As a result, the difficulties experienced by teachers in early childhood education in the process of advising developmental inventory tests were found in four aspects: ‘difficulty in getting objectivity of criteria for assessing disability risk factors’, ‘differences in the level of perception and acceptance between parents and teachers about young children development condition’, ‘conflict between parental response and teacher accountability’, ‘limitations in providing professional information’. Conclusions This study is meaningful in that it provides instances of difficulties experienced by teachers in early childhood education in the process of advising developmental inventory tests and their educational implications. Also, it is necessary to continuously discuss ways to support the specific support needs of field teachers and positive communication between parents and teachers in the process of advising developmental inventory tests.
