국문 초록

이 연구는 인도 내 한국어 교육의 현황을 조사하고 이를 증진시키기 위한 제안을 제공한다. 인도에서는 한류와 취업 기회에 따른 한국어에 대한 관심이 급증하면서 한국어 교육이 새로운시대를 열고 있다. 이 같은 경향은 한국어 학습자와 관련 기관이 증가하였음을 반영하고 있으며특히 인도 정부가 최근에 발표한 2020 국가교육정책에 한국어를 제2외국어로 포함시키며 더욱강화되었다. 본 연구는 인도의 각 기관에서 제공하는 다양한 한국어 강좌를 살펴봄으로써 수요의증가에 걸맞도록 인도 내 한국어 교육이 안정적이고 지속적인 발전을 보장하여 교육의 질을 개선해야 한다고 주장한다. 본 연구는 특히 인도에서의 한국어 교육을 더욱 활성화시키기 위해 자격을갖춘 한국어 교사를 확보하고, 표준 교육과정을 수립하며, 교사와 학자들 간의 연구 협력을 강화해야 한다고 강조하고 있다.

영문 초록

This paper examines the present status of Korean language education in India and provides suggestions for improvement. In India, Korean language education is witnessing a new dawn with the surge of interest in Hallyu and employment opportunities. This trend is reflected in the increase in the number of learners and institutions, further bolstered by the Indian Government’s National Education Policy 2020 that includes Korean as a second language in India. Exploring the various Korean language courses offered in India’s different institutions, the paper argues that the quality of Korean language education in India should be upgraded to maintain a balance with the quantitative growth, thereby ensuring stable and continued development. The paper especially stresses the importance of ensuring qualified Korean language teachers in India, establishing a standard curriculum, and conducting research betweenteachers and scholars to further advance Korean language education in India.
