국문 초록

본 연구는 코로나 19라는 재난 앞에서 인간들의 삶의 모습 속에서 ‘공감’의 중요성에 대해 주목하고 ‘공감’의 교육이 가능한지에 대한 관심에서 시작되었다. 특히 인간들이 겪는 고통의 내러티브에 대한 ‘공감’이 대학 인성교육의 장에서 어떤 역할을 할 수 있는지에 관심을 두었다. 공감을 교육의 장에 적용한 마사 누스바움(Martha Nussbaum)의 공감 교육 방법과 재난의 상황에서 ‘공감’의 실현 가능성을 정리한 레베카 솔닛(Rebecca Solnit)의 연구에 통찰을 얻었다. 그 바탕으로 고통의 내러티브가 인성 교육의 영역에서 ‘공감’ 증진을 위해 어떤 역할을 할 수 있을지에 대해 살펴 보았다. 기존 국내 대학의 인성 교육은 일정 기간을 통한 체화 보다는 단회성 특강이나 프로그램, 성과 평가를 위한 자기 개발 위주로 여겨져 온 것이 사실이다. 따라서 이를 보완할 수 있는 방법으로 ‘타인 혹은 타자의 고통’에 대한 내러티브를 ‘공감’할 수 있는 교과와 비교과가 통합된 융합 교육과정 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study came from the attention to the importance of ‘compassion’ in human life in the face of the disaster of Corona 19, and the question if we can perform education of ‘compassion’. In particular, attention was paid to what role the compassion about the narrative of pain that humans suffer can play in the field of character education in college. Insights were gained from the study by Martha Nussbaum who applied empathy to the field of education and Rebecca Solnit who summarized the possibility of realization of ‘compassion’. Based on that, it was investigated what role the narrative of pain can play to promote ‘compassion’ in the area of personality education. It is true that personality education in existing domestic universities has been regarded as a one-time special lecture or program, or self-development for performance evaluation rather than embodying the contents of the program through a certain period of time. Therefore, a convergence curriculum integrating academic subjects and non-academic-subjects are integrated to ‘Empathize’ the narrative about ‘the pain of others’ was proposed as a way to compensate for this.
