자료 찾기와 토의를 활용한 소설교육론 수업 사례 연구

국문 초록

변화하는 사회는 교육의 혁신을 요구하고, 시대의 추세에 따라 대학 교육도 변화를 추구하고 있다. 따라서 강의실 내 수업 유형도 암기위주, 일방향 학습 등 교수자중심학습에서 창의공유, 학습자중심, 쌍방향소통 등 학습자중심학습으로 바뀌고 있다. 학생이 지식 구성의 주체/지식 활용의 주체가 되게 하기 위해서 교수자는 학습자의 적극적인 참여를 유도하는 다양한 방법을 고려하지 않을 수 없다. 본 연구도 전공수업 중의 한 과목인 소설교육론 수업에서 새로운 교수학습법을 적용한 결과에 대한 사례 연구라는 점에서 그런 분위기를 적극 수용한 결과물이라고 할 수 있다. 이전의 소설교육론 수업은 교수 강의와 학생 발표, 교수 피드백 및 정리의 방식으로 진행되기 때문에, 교수는 학생 발표라는 결과물만 대상으로 학생을 평가할 수밖에 없었다. 단선적이고 결과평가적이었던 이전 수업의 문제점을 극복하기 위해서, 수업시간에 자료 찾기와 토의 방식을 활용함으로써 수업이 역동적이고 과정평가적으로 변화하는 것을 볼 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 효율적인 소설교육론 수업방안을 모색한 사례를 소개하는 데 목적을 둔다. 조별 모임을 통해서 자료를 찾는 동안 학생 간에 상호소통할 수 있고, 토의 결과를 발표하고 피드백하는 동안 교수-학생 간 상호소통을 할 수 있다. 자료찾기와 토의를 활용한 결과 학생들의 수업 몰입도가 높아졌고, 결국 다수의 학생들이 지식 구성의 주체/지식 활용의 주체가 되었다. 조별 구성원의 수가 과다할 경우, 무임승차하는 학생에 대한 관리를 잘하면 성공적인 수업을 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Changing society calls for innovations in education. In keeping with the trend of the times, college education is also pursuing change. Therefore, classroom-based class types are also changing from memorization-based, one-way learning to learning-oriented learning, such as creative sharing and interactive, learner-centered communication. In order to ensure that students are the main players in knowledge composition and utilization, professors should consider various ways to induce learners’ active participation. Given that this paper is a case study of the results of the application of this new teaching method to novel education theory classes, since novel education is a major subject, the paper is also the result of explicitly accepting an active learning atmosphere. Novel theory classes were previously structured as teaching lectures and student presentations involving professor feedback and the delivery of theorem; with this method, professors were forced to evaluate students based only on the results of student presentations. To overcome these previous classes’ obvious problems, novel education theory classes were made both dynamic and process-evaluated using in-class data retrieval and discussion methods. Therefore, this paper aims to introduce the case that explored an efficient novel education theory class method. Group meetings allow students to communicate with each other while searching for data, and professors and students can communicate with each other during presentations and during the provision of feedback on discussion outcomes. As a result of using data searching and discussion, students became more absorbed in class, and many became main players in knowledge composition and utilization. In cases where there are too many group members, a successful class can be achieved by managing free riders properly.
