국문 초록

본고는 태국에서의 한국어 교육 현황을 검토하여 그 변화 양상을 면밀히 고찰후, 대학입시의 정책변화에 따른 고등학교에서의 실제 수업 사례를 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 한국어 수업이 개설된 태국 고등학교 3곳(A, B, C)의 고등학교 2학년을 대상으로 수업을 녹화 후 수업 발화를 전사하였으며, 수업 단계, 교수 · 학습 내용, 수업 전개 양상, 활동 및 교수 전략을 기준으로 수업을 분석 후 그 특징을 제시하였다. 분석 결과 고등학교 한국어수업은 문법 중심의 전통적 수업형태를 띠고 있었고, ‘도입-제시-연습-마무리’의 단계를 따르는 수업 원형으로 이루어지고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 교사는 기계적 및 유의적 연습을 통해 문법 형태에 대한 학생들의 충분한 이해를 도모하였지만, 학습자들이 학습한 것을 실제 생활에서 사용할 수 있도록 내재화할 수 있는 과제 활동은 거의 제시하지 않고 있었다. 본 연구는 한국어를 필수과목으로 하는 태국 고등학교의 실제 한국어수업 사례를 관찰한 최초의 연구이고, 사례 분석을 통해 현지의 교육 특징을 파악한 실제적인 연구라는 데서 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the status of Korean language education in Thailand and considers its changing aspects in detail, with a case study on high school classrooms regarding policy changes in university entrance exams. For this, the classrooms of three second-year high schools in Thailand (A, B, and C) offering Korean language instruction were recorded and transcribed, and the characteristics are presented after analyzing the following criteria: stages of the class, teaching content, aspects of classroom development, activities, and teaching strategy. Results of the analysis of the Korean language high school classroom show a notable traditional classroom method focusing on grammar, and a classroom model following these steps: “introduction-presentation-practice-completion”. Even though the teacher ensured that the students sufficiently understood the grammatical structure by using structural and mechanical exercises, there were no activities to enable students to use what they learn in their daily life. This paper is significant as it is the first to study an actual Korean language classroom in a high school in Thailand offering Korean as a compulsory course. It is also an actual study to understand Thailand’s educational characteristics through case analysis.
