국문 초록

본고는 이청준의 많은 작품들 중에서 「이어도」의 토포필리아와 그 토포필리아 속에 드러나고 있는 여성성을 고찰해 보았다. 그동안 이청준 소설의 연구 중에서「이어도」는 특히 주목받아 왔다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 시공간 개념에서 토포필리아(장소애)에 대한 분석이 미흡했고, 그 장소애 속에서 드러나고 있는 주체와 타자에 대한 검토 또한 미흡했다는 문제점을 지니고 있다. 그래서 본고에서는 공간이 더욱 구체화되어 형상화된 ‘장소’에 제주도 사람들이 어떻게 ‘이어도’를 장소애로 귀착시키는지에 대해서 살펴보았다. 그리고 그 장소애 속에 드러나고 있는 여성성이 무엇이고, 주체와 타자의 관계는 어떻게 형성되어 있는지도 고찰해 보았다. 우리 시대는 아직도 산업화, 근대화, 민주화가 빚어낸 부정적 부산물에 많은 영향을 받고 있다. 그래서 우리의 공간은 타자와 주체가 뒤엉켜 있는 공간이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 혼돈의 삶을 사는 우리에게 문학은 위안의 안식처(토포필리아)를 제공해 주고 있다. 문학텍스트라는 허상(기호계)은 우리에게 얼마나 많은 간섭을 하며 우리의 에고를 무너뜨릴 수 있을까. 문학 속에서 우리는 많은 열락과 균열을 경험하고, 우리가 욕망하는 질의의 공간을 토포필리아화 할 수 있을지를 탐구해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study reviews the femininity revealed by topophilia in Lee Chung-jun’s Ieodo, as well as the topophilia which is evident in many of Lee s other works. So far, among studies of Lee’s works, Ieodo has drawn particular attention. Nevertheless, a problem exists in so far as the concepts of time and space have not included sufficient analysis of topophilia. Reviews of the subjects and matters that are revealed by topophilia were also insufficient. Thus, I looked at how people on Jeju Island could end up feeling topophilia for a place more specific and more imagery. Also, I looked at what femininity revealed about topophilia, and how the relationship between the subject and the batter is formed. Our times are still heavily influenced by negative by products of industrialization, modernization, and democratization. Accordingly, ours is a space where batter and subject are intertwined. Literature provides a haven for comfort(topophilia) for we who are living this chaotic life. How much interference does the fictional(the semiotic) of literary texts interfere with us and destroy our egos. In literature, we experience many rifts and feelings of inferiority, and therefore must explore whether we will be able to topophilianize the existent space we desire.
