방과후 초등돌봄 서비스에서의 프로젝트기반 배움(PBL) 운영사례 연구

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 방과후 초등돌봄 서비스 기관의 하나인 ‘우리동네키움센터’에서 PBL방법으로 운영된 교육프로그램이 PBL 취지에 입각하여 각 단계별로, 또 서울형 5C 기반의 PBL 운영원칙에 적합하게 진행되고 있는지를 확인하는데 있다. 방법 자료수집은 2020-2021년 상반기(2년간)까지 PBL활동을 종결한 키움센터 중 본 연구에 동의한 5개 키움센터의 센터장들과의 심층인터뷰와 운영사례보고서를 근거로 하였다. 심층인터뷰는 5개 기관 센터장들과 2021년 8월 24일부터 9월 1일까지 줌(ZOOM)을 활용한 비대면 실시간 회의방식으로 진행하였고 개별센터당 1시간에서 1시간 30분 소용되었다. 센터 PBL사례들에 대한 분석틀로 PBL 단계, PBL 운영원칙, 운영경험으로 분류하여 질적 내용분석하였다. 결과 분석결과, 5개 사례들은 모두 PBL단계측면에서 준비 및 계획, 실행, 종결의 과정을 준수하며 성공적인 활동을 수행하였고, PBL 운영원칙 측면에서 아동의 자기주도성, 창의성, 자신감, 협력의 역량을 함양하는 활동으로 진행되었다. 반면 코로나 19상황으로 인한 지역사회연계활동 제한, 돌봄교사의 PBL 운영을 위한 전문성 부족 등으로 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 결론 앞으로 우리동네키움센터가 PBL방식의 교육프로그램을 체계적으로 운영하기 위해서 돌봄교사 대상의 PBL전문교육, PBL 우수 사례집 제공 및 PBL 프로그램에 대한 효과성 검증 등의 후속작업이 요청된다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to verify whether education programs running under PBL(problem based learning) system in ‘Our village, Kium center’, one of the after-school elementary care service institutions, are operated according to the steps in PBL and fit to the operating principles of Seoul-based 5C PBL. Methods Data was collected from five Kium centers that ageed to this study out of all the centers that completed PBL activities between 2020 and the first half of 2021(2years). The data collection is based on the PBL case repots and in-depth interviews with the heads of the five centers. The in-depth interview was conducted through online Zoom meeting from August 24 to September 1, 2021, and took about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes per each center. As a case analysis framework, qualitative content analysis was performed by classifying contents into PBL stage, PBL operating principles, and operating experiences. Results As the result, all 5 cases successfully practiced activities by following the PBL steps of preparation, planning, execution, and conclusion. In terms of the operating principles, they provided activities that foster the children’s self-directedness, creativity, confidence and cooperation. On the other hand, there were some difficulties due to the COVID-19 restrictions on local joint projects and because of the lacking expertise the care teachers had in operating PBL. Conclusions In order for ‘Our village, Kium center’ to systematically operate PBL-based education programs, following works, such as providing PBL specialized education for care teachers, publishing the collection of best field work, and verifying the effectiveness of PBL program, are required.
