요양병원 간호사의 BPSD 간호부담감이 치매간호수행에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 요양병원 간호사의 BPSD 간호부담감과 치매간호수행의 관계를 확인하여 간호부담감을 감소시키고 치매간호의 질을 향상하기 위해 시행되었다. 연구대상자는 27개 요양병원에 근무하는 간호사 248명이었고, 자료수집 기간은 2018년 6월 1일부터 6월 30일까지이다. 연구 결과 BPSD에 대한 간호부담감은 일반적 특성 중 치매교육경험(F=-3.549, p<.001)에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었으며, BPSD 간호부담감은 치매간호수행(r=-.853, p<.001)과 통계적으로 유의한 음의 상관관계를 보였다. 다중 회귀분석 1단계에서는 치매 교육경험(t=2.603, p<.05)이 치매간호수행의 4.3%를 설명했으며, 2단계에서는 BPSD 간호부담감이 치매간호수행을 72%를 설명했다. 따라서 BPSD 간호부담감이 치매간호수행에 부정적 영향을 미치는 주요 예측 요인으로 확인되었으므로 향 후 치매간호의 질을 향상 시키기 위해서는 요양병원 간호사의 BPSD 간호부담감을 낮추기 위한 전략이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study identified the relationship between the burden associated with Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD) and nursing performance of certified caregivers in nursing homes. That aimed to reduce the caregiving burden and improve the quality of care provided to patients with dementia. The study was conducted on 248 nurses in the 27 nursing homes from June 1, 2018 to June 30, 2018. The results showed that dementia education significantly affected the caregiving burden associated with BPSD(F=-3.549, p<.001). The caregiving burden was found to have a statistically significant negative correlation with caring for patients with dementia (r=-. 853, p<.001). In the first block of the multiple regression analysis, the dementia education experience explained 4.3% of nursing care quality for dementia (t=2.603, p<.05), and in the second block, the caregiving burden associated with BPSD explained 72% of nursing care quality for dementia. As a result of the study, the caregiving burden associated with BPSD is a major predictive factor affecting nursing care quality for patients with dementia. Therefore, it suggests for implementing strategies in reducing the caregiving burden associated with BPSD. Lowing the caregiving burden associated with BPSD is necessary for improving the nursing care quality for dementia patients. Thus, this study can be used as a foundation for developing the behavioral psychology programs.
