국문 초록

본 연구는 만 5세 구름반 교실에서 유아들의 역할놀이를 정체되게 만드는 발생맥락을 파악하여 그 의미를 도출함으로써 유아가 경험하는 역할놀이의 의미와 본질을 이해하자 하였다. 연구 방법은 역할놀이영역에서의 놀이관찰과 유아, 교사와의 면담 을 토대로 한 질적 연구방법으로 수행하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 구조화되고 비개방적인 물리적 공간과 낡고 구조성이 높은 놀잇감, 놀잇감의 이동제한이라는 암묵적인 놀이규칙이 만들어 낸 경직된 교실상황에 의해 유아들 의 역할놀이를 은밀하게 통제해 왔다는 것이다. 둘째, 생활주제와 관련한 역할놀이는 구름반 유아들이 스스로 선택한 흥미 있는 놀이보다는 자신이 경험해보지 못한 유아교육기관의 놀이인 새롭고 낯선 놀이로 인식되어 적극적으로 참여하여 몰입하 지 못하고 다른 놀이에 비해 관심 밖으로 멀어졌던 것이다. 셋째, 발달에 적합한 실제라는 담론으로 특정한 아동과 교사를 구조화된 형태로 억압하는 교육현장을 둘러싼 평가 위주의 체제로 인해 놀이와 학습의 모호한 경계 속에서 구름반 유아들의 역 할놀이는 정체되고 사라져 간 것이다. 본 연구는 만 5세 교실상황에서 유아가 경험하는 역할놀이의 의미와 본질을 재정립하고 교육현장에서 역할놀이에 대한 새로운 관점과 해석을 통해 교육의 기회로 활용할 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to understand the meaning and nature of role playing experienced by 5-year-old children from Class Gureum by identifying the reason and context of their stagnant role playing and drawing the meaning. For this, qualitative esearch was conducted based on play observation in the area of role playing and interviews with the children and teachers. The results of this research are as follows: First, inflexible classroom factors including the structured and non-open physical space, old and highly structured play materials, and the implicit play rule of movement-restricted play materials have secretly controlled the children’s role playing. Second, role playing related to everyday life topics has been perceived by the children to be new and unfamiliar play that is suggested by the children’s education institution, which they have not yet experienced, compared to the interesting play that the children of Class Gureum would choose by themselves; this is why they could not participate orbe immersed in the play actively and showed more interest in other types of play. Third, the evaluation-focused system surrounding the educational ground, which represses particular children and teachers with a structured format under the discourse of practice appropriate for development, has made role playing of the children of Class Gureum stagnant and disappear in the ambiguous boundary between play and learning. This research re-establishes the meaning and nature of role playing experienced by children aged 5 in classroom situations and implies that new perspectives and interpretation on role playing at the educational field can be utilized as the opportunity of education.
