한국어 호칭어에 대한 한국 대학생, 중국 유학생의 인식 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 한국인 대학생(K 집단)과 중국인 대학생(C 집단)이 선호하는 호칭어와 호칭어 사용에 대해 어떠한 인식을 가지고 있는지 고찰하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국어교육 전문가와 함께 담화완성테스트(DCT)와 인식조사 설문지를 구성하였다. 2018년 12월에 서울 소재 K대학의 교양수업 1개 강좌에서 한국 대학생(이하 K 집단) 35명과 중국 유학생(이하 C 집단) 32명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 전체 설문에 응답한 K 집단 34명, C 집단 24명의 응답 내용을 비교, 분석하였다. 분석 결과 호칭어 사용 경향에서 두 집단 모두 친밀한 사이인지, 아닌지에 따라 선택 양상이 다르게 나타났다. 친밀 집단일 때 K 집단과 C 집단은 호칭어를 비슷한 양상으로 선택하였으나 비친밀 집단일 때와 비면대면 조건일 때 K 집단과 C 집단의 호칭어 선택 양상이 달라지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 한국어 호칭어에 대한 인식에서 C 집단은 호칭어 전환에 상대적으로 어려움을 겪고 있음을 확인하였으며, 친밀함에 따른 호칭어 선택이 예의에 미치는 영향 관계에서 C 집단이 K 집단보다 덜 민감한 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 대학에서 호칭을 결정하는 요소 중 학번의 중요성에 대해서는 K 집단보다 C 집단이 더 민감하게 여기는 것을 알 수 있었다. 마지막으로 초면 호칭어 사용 전략에서C 집단은 K 집단에 비해 ‘이름+씨’ 호칭어 사용에 대해 긍정적인 응답이 높게 나타났으며 K 집단은 일부 어색하다는 응답이 있었지만 ‘이름+씨’ 호칭어의 사용에 대해 긍정적으로 사용하는 사람이 많음을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate Korean (K group) and Chinese university students’ (C group) perception of Korean address terms and the use of korean address terms. For this purpose, the Discourse Completion Test (DCT) and the Questionnaire Survey were constructed. In December 2018, we surveyed 35 Korean university students and 32 Chinese students in one liberal arts class at K university in Seoul. And then we analyzed K group(34 respondents) and C group (24 respondents). The analysis results showed differences in preference patterns for both groups depending on whether they were close or not. In the intimate group, groups K and C selected the same terms in the same way, but it was confirmed that the korean address terms selection patterns of the groups K and C were different in the non - intimate group and the non – face to face conditions. In the recognition of the Korean language, it was confirmed that group C had difficulty in translating the host language, and in accordance to intimacy, it was confirmed that group C was less sensitive than group K when selecting korean address terms influenced by courtesy. Among the factors determining the choice of korean address terms in university, the importance of year level group C was found to be more sensitive than group K. Finally, group C showed a higher positive response to the use of the name + 씨 (ssi) than group K, while group K showed some unpleasant responses. However, it was confirmed that many people used name + 씨 (ssi) positively.
