자살예방을 위한 노인 동료 게이트키퍼 양성훈련 프로그램 효과 검증

국문 초록

최근 노인들의 자살문제의 심각성으로 노인 자살예방의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 사회적 이슈에 맞추어 노인 자살예방을 위해 노인 동료 게이트키퍼 양성훈련 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 개발된 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위해 인천광역시에 소재하고 있는 노인문화센터를 이용하는 60-70세 노인 중 프로그램에 참여를 원하는 총 31명을 대상으로 실험집단 17명, 통제집단 14명으로 선정하여 2011년 10월 초부터 11월 초까지 자기보고식 설문조사를 실시하고, 이를 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 PASW Statistics 18.0을 사용하여 ttest, ANCOVA, MANOVA를 실시하여 자기효능감, 공감능력, 자살에 대한 태도의 하위 요소별 집단 간의 차이를 봄으로써 연구문제 검증하였고, 그 결과 자기조절효능감, 자신감, 관점수용, 공감적 관심, 허용가능한 자살태도, 개인권리로서의 자살태도, 예방가능한 자살태도가 통계적으로 유의미하게 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 한계점 및 의의를 논의하였으며, 향후 지속적으로 프로그램을 보완하기 위한 제언을 제시하였다. 본 연구는 한국 노인에게 적합한 노인 자살예방을 위한 동료 게이트키퍼 양성훈련 프로그램 개발의 방향을 제시하였고, 유능한 동료 게이트키퍼를 양성하기 위한 기초를 제공한 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purposes of this research was to develop a peer gatekeeper education program for preventing suicide in old age and to verify the effectiveness of the program. To examine the research program was developed in the process of a ADDIE model, a typical process of developing educational programs that are consisted of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation stages. Then, the effects of the program were verified. The program was consisted of eight sessions, and the sample was seventeen aged people. A control group, which have a similar demographic character, was organized to verify the effects of the program. A pre-test and a post-test were conducted on the control group and the experimental group each. The instrument to verify the effects of the program was tests for general selfefficacy, empathy ability, or an attitude toward suicide. The collected data was analyzed using a T-test, an ANOCOVA test, and a MANOVA test of the PASW Statistics 18.0, and by studying the differences among the subordinate elements of each area, the research questions were verified. This study suggested a direction for developing a gatekeeper education program which is suitable for aged people in Korea. It also showed its significance that will provide the groundwork for training competent gatekeepers. Therefore, it will help reducing and preventing elderly suicides in the community.
