지체장애학생을 지도하는 시각장애 특수교사의 교직 수행 과정에서의 도전과 지원 요구

국문 초록

이 연구는 지체장애학생을 지도하는 시각장애 특수교사의 교직 수행 과정을 분석하고, 효율적인 교직 생활을 지원하려는 방안을 제안하고자 수행되었다. 이 연구는 지체장애학교에 재직 중인 시각장애 특수교사 3명으로 수행되었으며, 내러티브 방법에 기초하여 자료를 수집 및 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교직 수행의 원동력 영역에서는 연구 참여자들이 다양한 동기로 특수교사를 지망하였음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 연구 참여자들은 지체장애학교에 발령받은 후 많은 어려움에 직면하였으나, 강인한 의지, 학생과의 정서적 유대감, 동료 교사의 지지는 어려움을 극복하는 원동력이었음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 교직 수행의 어려움 영역에서는 연구 참여자들이 타 장애영역의 특수학교 발령에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하고 있으나, 지체장애학교에 근무하면서 신체활동 지원 및 안전사고의 대처에 어려움을 겪는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 교직 수행의 지원 방안 영역에서는 연구 참여자들이 효율적인 교직 생활을 위하여 보조인력 및 보조기기 등의 다양한 형태의 인적, 물적 지원이 강화되어야 함을 인식하고 있었으며, 각종 정보의 제공이 이루어져야 함을 요구하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 시각장애 특수교사의 교직 생활을 위해서는 장애특성과 장애정도를 고려한 실질적인 지원 제도가 구축되어야 함을 이 연구에서는 시사하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to analyze the teaching adaptation process of special teachers with visual impairments who guide students with physical disabilities and to propose ways to support efficient teaching life. Participants in the study were three special teachers with visual impairments working at schools with physical disabilities, and data were collected and analyzed based on narrative methods. The questionnaire area for the study was divided into the driving force of teaching performance, difficulty in teaching performance, and support for teaching performance, and 11 sub-topics and 45 semantic units were created. First, the research participants applied for special teachers with various motives in the area of the driving force of teaching performance. In addition, the research participants faced many difficulties after being assigned to the school for physical disabilities. However, their firm will, emotional bond with students, and support from fellow teachers were the driving forces to overcome the difficulties. Second, in the area of difficulty in performing the teaching profession, the research participants were positively aware of the issuance of other types of special schools with disabilities. However, it was found that they had difficulty supporting physical activities and coping with safety accidents while working at schools for physical disabilities. Third, in the area of support measures for teaching performance, it was found that the research participants recognized that human and material support should be strengthened for efficient teaching life and that various information should be provided. Therefore, this study suggests that a practical support system should be established considering the characteristics of disability and the degree of disability for the teaching life of special teachers with visual impairments.
