임상시험에 참여한 건강자원자의 경험에 관한 질적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 제1상 임상시험에 참여한 건강자원자의 경험을 이해하기 위해 약물 임상시험에 참여한 건강자원자의 경험을 밝혀내고자 주제분석을 적용하여 시행된 질적 연구이다. 연구참여자는 제 1상 임상시험에 참여한 성인 건강자원자 8명으로 개별 심층면담을 통해 자료 수집 후 주제분석 방법으로 내용을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 15개의 의미 있는 코드, 6개의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 최종 도출된 3 개의 중심주제는 ‘임상시험에 대한 인식 이겨내기’, ‘임상시험 과정 완수하기’, ‘임상시험 기여자로 참여하기’ 이었다. 참여자들은 임상시험에 대한 자신의 양가적 인식과 사회의 부정적 인식을 경험하며 임상시험으로 인한 불편과 불안을 느끼면서도 임상시험을 완수하기 위해 노력하고 있었다. 그리고 이해가 어려운 서류들과 형식적인 과정에서 아쉬움을 느끼며 임상시험 기여자로 보다 대우 받기를 원하고 있었다. 따라서 임상시험에 대한 사회적 인식을 개선하고 건강자원자들에 대한 배려와 전인적인 간호학적 접근이 필요함을 제언하는 바이다.

영문 초록

This qualitative study conducted to understand the experience of healthy volunteers participated in clinical trials. The participants were adult health volunteers who participated in the first phase clinical trial. Data were collected in individual in-depth interviews, and analyzed by thematic analysis method. As a result of the study, 15 meaningful codes and 6 sub-themes were derived. The 3 core-themes that were derived: overcoming perception of clinical trials, completing clinical trials, and participating in clinical trials as contributors. Participants were trying to complete the clinical trial while experiencing ambivalence of self and negative perceptions of the society as well as feeling uncomfortable and anxious about clinical trial. And they felt sorry for the difficult documents and the formal process and wanted to be treated more as a clinical trial contributor. Therefore, it is suggested that there is a need to improve social awareness of clinical trials and to consider and take a holistic approach to health volunteers.
