국문 초록

본 연구는 최근에 교육분야에서 새롭게 떠오르고 있는 Carol Dweck의 마인드셋(mintset)에 대한 연구를 고찰한 것이다. 최근 4차산업혁명과 관련하여 학계에서는 미래의 주역인 학생들의 교육의 방향에 대해 심층적으로 논의되고 있다. Dweck은 미래의 교육은 성장마인드셋을 향상시키는 방향으로 초점이 맞추어져야 한다고 주장하며, 그 동안 많은 연구를 이끌어왔다. 본 연구에서는 미래의 대안적 교육목표로 제시되고 있는 Dweck의 마인드셋 관련한 기존의 연구들을 고찰하고 기존 연구들의 한계 점을 보완하고 앞으로의 연구의 방향성을 제시하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 지금까지 연구들에서는 마인 드셋과 관련한 다양한 변인들(학업성취, 동기부여, 회복탄력성, 분노, 우울, 리더십 및 또래관계 등)과의 관계를 밝히는 연구들이 가장 많았다. 그 다음으로 마인드셋에 영향을 미치는 변인들에 대한 연구 들, 그리고 성장마인드셋을 향상시킬 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하고 프로그램의 효과를 검증한 연구들이 있었다. 마지막으로, 측정도구들에 대한 연구가 있는데, 이들 연구들은 그 간의 마인드셋을 측정하는 도구들이 인지적 영역에 한정시켜 측정하고 있다는 측면에서 한계점을 갖는다고 보고하고 있다. 한 개인의 마음의 태도를 타당성있게 특정하기 위해서는 인간의 능력을 인지적 영역뿐 아니라 정서와 신체적인 영역을 포함하여 측정해야할 필요성에 대해 논의하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study examines the study of Carol Dweck s mintset, which has recently emerged in the field of education. In the recent 4th industrial revolution, academics are discussing in depth the direction of education of the future students. Dweck argues that future education should be focused on improving the set of growth minds, and has led many studies over the years. The purpose of this study is to review the existing research on Dweck s mindset, which is presented as an alternative educational goal in the future, to complement the limitations of previous studies and to suggest the direction of future research. Studies that have so far focused on the relationship between various variables related to mindset (academic achievement, motivation, resilience, anger, depression, leadership, and peer relationships). Next, there are studies on variables that influence mindset, and studies that have developed programs to improve the set of growth minds and verified the effectiveness of the program. Finally, there is a study of measurement tools, and these studies report that they have limitations in that they measure the mindset between them only in the cognitive domain. In order to adequately characterize the attitude of an individual s mind, we discuss the need to measure not only the cognitive domain but also emotional and physical domains.
