예술기반의 은유분석을 통한 기술 교과에 대한 학생 인식

국문 초록

제7차 교육과정에서 기술․가정교과의 개념이 등장한 이후로 기술교과에 대한 정체성의 논란은 계 속되어 오고 있다. 이 연구는 이러한 논란 속에서 기술교과에 대한 정체성을 확인해 보고 그 결과를 공감하는 방법으로써 새로운 융합연구방법을 적용해 보기위해 수행된 기술교육에서의 예술기반 연구 이다. 울산광역시 소재 중학교 학생 132명을 연구대상으로 선정하여 이들의 의식 속에 근원영역으로 존재하는 기술에 대한 인식을 은유분석을 통해 범주화하였다. 학생들은 기술에 대하여 ‘일반적 용어’ 와 ‘교과 과목’이라는 이원화된 인식을 가지고 있었으며, 이 두 가지의 인식의 근거가 서로 일치하는 학생은 존재하지 않았다. 아울러 학생들의 이러한 인식들은 그림을 통해 표현되었고, 이 그림들을 활 용하여 연구자 본인이 가지는 기술에 대한 인식을 미디어아트기반의 포토모자이크 콜라주 작품으로 제작하여 학생들과 공유하였다. 이 연구를 통해 교과 과목으로서 기술의 정체성에 대해 확인하고 기 술교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 생각해볼 수 있었으며, 이러한 연구의 과정을 예술로 표현하는 함축적 인 과정을 통해 기술교육에서 예술기반 연구가 최초로 시행되는 새로운 시작점을 마련하게 되었다.

영문 초록

Since the technology․home-science subject curriculum has emerged with the 7th curriculum, the argument of identity of the technology subject has been continued. This study is an arts-based research in technology education to confirm the identity of the technology subject in this argument, and to apply the new convergence research method with sympathizing that identity. 132 middle school students in Ulsan metropolitan city were selected, and the perceptions of technology embedded in their consciousness as a source-domain were recategorized through metaphor analysis. They have bilingual perceptions about technology as ‘general term’ and ‘subject name’. And there is no one who has the same perception-source between these two perceptions. Besides, their perceptions were presented through pictures, and using these pictures, media art photo-mosaic collage masterpiece which contains researcher’s perception about technology was created and shared with students. Through this study, it was possible to identify the identity of technology as a subject and to think about the way that technology education should proceed, and for the first time, a new starting point was created. The art-based research in technology education is implemented through the implication process of expressing the process of this research as art.
