국문 초록

목적 본 연구에서는 청소년 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 변인 간 구조적 관계를 학교급별로 살펴보고자 하였다. 방법 2021년 실시한 ‘10대 청소년 정신건강 실태조사’자료의 일부를 사용하였다. 자살 고위험군에 속하는 중, 고등학생 405명을 대상으로 SPSS 27.0, SPSS Macro Process 4.2 Model 4와 Model 6을 사용하여 분석하였다. 결과 연구 결과 첫째, 중학생 집단과 고등학생 집단에서 모두 스트레스는 자아존중감과 부적 상관을, 우울과 자살위험성과는 정적 상관을 보였고, 자아존중감은 우울, 자살위험성과 부적 상관을 보였으며, 우울은 자살위험성과 정적 상관을 보였다, 둘째, 중학생 집단에서는 스트레스와 자살위험성 간 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과가 유의하지 않았고, 고등학생 집단에는 완전 매개하였다. 셋째, 중학생 집단에서는 스트레스와 자살위험성 간 관계를 우울이 완전 매개하였고, 고등학생 집단에서는 부분 매개하였다. 넷째, 중학생 집단에서는 스트레스와 자살위험성 간 관계에서 자아존중감과 우울의 순차적 매개효과가 유의하지 않았고, 고등학생 집단에서는 유의하였다. 결론 이러한 결과를 토대로, 본 연구에서는 청소년의 자살위험성 재고를 위해 각 집단의 발달적 특성을 고려한 차등적인 개입 방안의 필요성을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives This study aimed to examine the structural relationships among variables influencing suicidal ideation in adolescents across different school levels. Methods The study utilized a subset of data from the “2021 Survey on the Mental Health Status of Teenagers,” targeting 405 middle and high school students categorized as high-risk for suicide. Analyses were conducted using SPSS 27.0 and SPSS Macro Process 4.2 with Model 4 and Model 6 to explore both direct and mediating effects among stress, self-esteem, depression, and suicide risk. Results Stress was negatively correlated with self-esteem and positively correlated with depression and suicide risk in both middle and high school groups. Self-esteem was negatively correlated with depression and suicide risk, while depression was positively correlated with suicide risk. In the middle school group, the mediating effect of self-esteem in the relationship between stress and suicide risk was not significant, whereas it was fully mediated in the high school group. Depression fully mediated the relationship between stress and suicide risk in the middle school group, while it partially mediated this relationship in the high school group. The sequential mediating effects of self-esteem and depression in the relationship between stress and suicide risk were significant in the high school group but not significant in the middle school group. Conclusions The findings highlight the developmental differences in the mechanisms underlying suicide risk among adolescents. While depression played a significant mediating role across school levels, the mediating effects of self-esteem and its interaction with depression varied between groups. These results underscore the necessity of tailored intervention strategies that address the unique developmental and psychological needs of middle and high school students to effectively reduce suicide risk.
