전공자율선택제에 대한 요구도 및 우선순위분석: A대학 구성원의 인식을 중심으로

국문 초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 전공자율선택제의 운영을 위한 요인들의 중요성과 현재 실행 수준을 A대학 구성원의 인식을 바탕으로 분석하고, A대학의 맥락에 부합합는 전공자율선택제의 성공적인 운영을 위해 어떠한 요인에 더욱 중점을 두어야 하는가를 탐색하는 것이다. 방법 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 A대학 구성원들을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 활용하여 온라인 설문을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 ‘중요도-실행도 분석(IPA)’과 ‘Borich 요구도 분석’, ‘The Locus for Focus Model 분석’을 실시하였고, 결과를 종합하여 A대학 구성원들의 전공자율선택제에 대한 인식을 분석하였다. 결과 먼저 IPA분석 결과, 집중개선 영역에 진로 탐색 및 전공 결정을 도와주는 교육내용과 과목 개설, 학생관리 등의 행정 전담 관리 조직이 위치하였다. Borich 요구도 값은 진로 탐색 및 전공 결정을 도와주는 교육내용, 행정전담조직, 선후배 및 동기와의 소통지원 순으로 산출되었다. The Locus for Focus 모델 분석결과 1사분면 영역에 진로 및 전공 탐색 지원 교육내용 및 상담, 컨설팅 등의 체계적 지원, 모든 전공의 기초 지식을 다루는 교육내용, 행정 전담 조직이 위치하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 A대학의 성공적인 전공자율선택제 운영을 위해, 첫째, 학생들이 스스로 자신의 진로를 탐색할 수 있는 주체성을 함양시켜줄 수 있는 교육내용, 둘째, 학생들에게 다양한 전공 탐색의 기회를 제공할 수 있는 전공기초를 다루는 교육내용, 마지막으로 전공자율선택제로 입학한 학생들을 전담하여 관리할 수 행정적 지원 체계 마련이 수반되어야 한다는 점을 제안한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study was to explore practical operation plans for the major autonomous selection system that are suitable for university settings, based on the results of analysis of university members' perceptions and needs regarding the operation of the major autonomous selection system. Methods To achieve the purpose of the study, an online survey was conducted using a structured questionnaire targeting members of University A. The collected data were subjected to ‘Importance-Practice Analysis(IPA)’, ‘Borich needs Analysis’, and ‘The Locus for Focus Model Analysis’, and the results were synthesized to analyze the perception of University A members' major selection system. Results First, in the IPA analysis, 2 items (career course contents that helps career exploration and major decision-making, an administrative management organization) were classified as ‘Concentrate here’ area, with high importance but low performance. The priority order according to Borich's needs includes ‘career course contents’, ‘administrative management organization’, ‘communication support with seniors, juniors, and classmates’. The Locus for Focus model analysis revealed that the HH area consisted of 4 items, including ‘career course contents’, ‘career counseling’, ‘administrative management organization’, ‘communication support with seniors, juniors, and classmates’. Conclusions Based on the results of this study, in order to successfully operate a major autonomous selection system at University A, first, educational content that can foster students' autonomy to explore their own career paths, and second, provide students with opportunities to explore various majors. It is suggested that educational content that covers the basics of majors that can be done, and an administrative support system that can take full charge of managing students who entered the program through the self-selecting major system should be established.
