국문 초록

목적 이 연구의 목적은 한국 청소년의 케이팝 아이돌에 대한 진로인식과 직업선망을 탐색하는 것이다. 방법 이를 위해, 케이팝 아이돌에 대한 진로인식과 직업선망을 묻는 설문지를 구성하여 전국의 13~15세 청소년 316명을 대상으로 2023년 12월 4일부터 2023년 12월 14일까지 설문을 실시하였다. 설문은 총 27문항이며, 설문에 대한 응답은 결측치를 제외한 값을 빈도 분석을 활용하여 분석하였다. 결과 연구결과, 우선, 케이팝 아이돌에 대한 진로인식 영역에서, 한국 청소년은 아이돌로 데뷔를 하려면 체계적인 교육과 정보, 외모가 중요하며, 아이돌로 성공하기 어려운 이유는 외모, 퍼포먼스, 음악성 부족과 직업의 불안정성에 대한 인식이 크게 작용하고 있었다. 다음으로, 케이팝 아이돌에 대한 직업선망 영역에서 한국 청소년은 아이돌에 대한 직업선망이 높았다. 반면에 예상과는 달리, 아이돌을 직업으로 고려하는 경우는 적었는데, 이는 직업선택에서는 단순히 직업선망보다는 자신의 적성과 흥미에 대한 고려가 주요인으로 작용하고 있음을 확인하였다. 결론 연구결과, 한국 청소년들은 아이돌 직업은 선호하지만, 다양한 이유로 자신의 직업으로 고려하고 있지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 한국 청소년이 아이돌을 선호하는 만큼, 이에 대한 정확하고 많은 정보를 가지고 있고, 따라서 이러한 정보를 바탕으로 직업선택에 있어 단순히 호기심과 관심, 그리고 선망만을 고려하는 것이 아니라, 자신의 재능, 적성, 특성, 실현가능성 등 다양한 요인을 폭넓게 고려하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 향후, 가정과 학교는 청소년에게 다양한 직업에 대한 정보제공을 통해, 이들이 선망하면서도 동시에 재능이 있어서 실현가능성이 높은 직업을 선택할 수 있도록 유도하고, 이에 따른 적절한 도움을 줄 필요가 있다고 판단한다.

영문 초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to explore the career perceptions and occupational aspirations of Korean adolescents regarding K-pop idols, in order to understand the changes in their vocational values and preferences. Methods To achieve this, a survey was conducted among 316 adolescents aged 13 to 15 nationwide, from December 4 to December 14, 2023. The survey consisted of questions about career perceptions and occupational aspirations related to K-pop idols. The analysis of the survey responses was performed using frequency analysis. Results The research findings indicate that, first, adolescents recognize that systematic training, information, and appearance are important for debuting as a K-pop idol. They perceive that it is difficult to succeed as an idol due to challenges such as appearance, performance, and musical talent, as well as the instability of the profession. In particular, the negative impacts of unmet public expectations and malicious comments were found to be significant reasons for the cessation of activities, leading to hesitation in choosing a career as an idol. Secondly, regarding occupational aspirations for K-pop idols, adolescents express a high preference for idols as figures that bring joy and happiness, but show limited consideration of idol careers. When they do consider it as a career, their motivations are primarily based on aptitude and interest. Additionally, the main aspirational motivations for wanting to become an idol include attractive appearance and style, music, and dance, while the obstacles identified are long training periods and an uncertain future. Conclusions This study reveals that while Korean adolescents admire the dance and performances of idols, very few consider idol careers as viable options due to perceived low feasibility. This indicates that adolescents take into account not only curiosity, interest, and admiration in their career choices but also a wide range of factors such as their own talents, aptitudes, and characteristics. Therefore, it is essential for schools and the government to provide adolescents with information about various professions. This will help guide them toward selecting aspirational yet feasible careers aligned with their talents and abilities, along with the necessary support.
